Court: United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit Filed: 2026-06-05 Docket: 1:25-cv-04344-LMM The eleventh-circuit affirmed the district court’s dismissal of Dorothy Artis’s employment discrimination suit with prejudice. The court held that Artis waived her right to challenge the magistrate judge’s findings and recommendations because she failed to file timely objections within the required period, despite being informed of the deadline and consequences. Under Eleventh Circuit Rule 3-1, a party who does not object waives appellate review of unobjected-to factual and legal conclusions adopted by the district court. While the court noted it could review waived objections for plain error if necessary in the interests of justice, it declined to do so because Artis did not argue in her initial brief that such review was required. Consequently, the court will not review the conclusion that her complaint should be dismissed with prejudice based on her failure to object to the underlying report and recommendation.
