Court: United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit Filed: 2026-06-04 Docket: 3:24-cr-00090-TKW-1 The eleventh-circuit affirmed Ralphael Roy Caldwell’s conviction for possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon under 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1). The court held that its binding precedents foreclose Caldwell’s arguments that the statute is unconstitutional under the Second Amendment or exceeds Congress’s Commerce Clause authority. Specifically, the court noted it has repeatedly rejected facial challenges to the statute under the Commerce Clause and found a sufficient “minimal nexus” to interstate commerce where the firearm was manufactured out of state. Regarding the Second Amendment challenge, the court determined that *New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, Inc. v. Bruen* and *United States v. Rahimi* did not abrogate its prior holding in *United States v. Rozier* that § 922(g)(1) does not violate the Second Amendment.
