Celebrating Women’s Entrepreneurship Day

In this episode, Shauna will sit down with Milena Radakovic, a Canadian Ambassador of the Women's Entrepreneurship Day Organization of Canada. With Women's Entrepreneurship Day taking place on November 19th, we will be discussing what WEDO Canada does, why it’s important to celebrate women entrepreneurs, key items to consider when entering entrepreneurship, many resources that are available, and much more. Milena Radakovic is the President and Owner of Nexus Exhibits Ltd., which has grown into one of western Canada's best visual branding solutions companies for exhibits, events, and environments over the last 40 years. Throughout her 20+ years of professional experience, her love for small companies, trade exhibitions, and graphic marketing has grown. She is a member and Global Ambassador of the Entrepreneurs Organisation (EO), past board member of Organization of Women In International Trade (OWIT) and Women in Leadership Foundation (WIL). Milena’s commitment and passion for this cause was constantly in focus as she helped lead WIL to deliver innovative programming to thousands of women across Canada.  She was awarded “Presidents Volunteer Champion” Award by (WIL) in 2016,  and University of Calgary’s WRC Distinction Alumna award. She received the “Business Leader in Calgary Award in 2018, and Calgary Influential Women in Business Award in 202o, for her professional accomplishments, influence and business community involvement. In 2019, she was appointed the Canada Ambassador to (WEDO) Women Entrepreneurship Day Organization, celebrated at the United Nations, with a mission to alleviate poverty by empowering, educating and supporting women in business worldwide and with that honour she started the WEDO Canada Foundation with the goal to provide $1 Million in Scholarships to aspiring female entrepreneurs.  She was also awarded Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100  by WXN, recognizing outstanding women across Canada who advocate for workforce diversity and inspire.
