George Daley, decano de la Facultad de Medicina, describe el enorme trabajo para lograr modificar mediante la ingeniería, células madre humanas de la sangre para crear un donante universal que no dispare ningún ataque del sistema inmunológico. En el tratamiento de la diabetes, el uso de la terapia celular podría llevar a prescindir de la insulina inyectada.
