李续宾统营既多，历年已久，节省盈余及廉俸至数万金，不寄家以自肥，概留备军中非常之需。咸丰六年冬，曾寄银五千两于南昌，济臣粮台之急。七年冬，又寄银万两至吉安，济臣弟曾国荃一军；又寄三千两至贵溪，济李元度一军。此外，盈余银两，亦皆量力济人，不忍他军饥而己军独饱。
