Jahrhunderts über mehr als 100 schicksalsträchtige Jahre des Gebietes des ehemaligen Deutsch-Westungarns mit einem besonderem Blick auch auf die nationalen Minderheiten: Deutsche, Kroaten, Roma und Juden, später auch Ungarn, die vom staatstragenden Mehrheitsvolk zu einer zahlenmäßig kleinen Volksgruppe wurden. Thema wird in diesem Zusammenhang auch die kroatische Herkunft des Autors Milletich, mit Wurzeln im nordburgenländischen Gattendorf, sein.
