CFB’s #1 vs #2 Offense: Who Will Win?

from Guys At The Bar Talking Sports · host Guys At The Bar Talking Sports Network

Games of the Week: 1. #8 Oregon at #7 Washington- Michael Penix Jr vs Bo Nix. Penix, 2000 yards passing, 75% completion, only 2 interceptions. Vs Nix: 1459 yards passing, 80.4% completions, 1 interception. Oregon is only giving up 12 points per game, Washington is allowing 18 points per game. #1 total offense vs #2 total offense. Game changer is Oregon is the number 6 defense in the country, while Washington does not even break the top 50 2. #18 UCLA at #15 Oregon State- I’ll defer to my favorite Oregon State fan, but I think both teams are dead even on total offense per game, but ucla is a top 5 defense. Their only loss is to Utah, and last week they beat Washington State. I don’t know that the WSU is as big of a win as it looks right now, since they’ll probably end with four losses. The interesting thing is that Oregon state lost to Washington State, but beat Utah. Perfectly even match up. 3. #25 Miami at #12 UNC- devastating loss at Miami last week. Honestly, the stupidest play ever cold, but it looks like the players elbow is down during the replay. It’s still an L for the hurricanes. UNC is a dynamite team, with a quarterback who can get the job done. I think this is a very evenly matched up. 4. #10 USC at #21 Notre Dame- this is Notre Dame‘s last stand. He said that last week also and they lost. The only thing that I think may allow Notre Dame to pull off a win is that USC does not have the defense that Ohio State has, and won’t be able to get into the face of Sam Hartman. That is his weakness. Notre Dame does have a decent defense, but is it enough to stop the reigning Heisman champion? 5. Texas A&M at #19 Tennessee - I really think this can be an upset situation this week. seems that Josh Heupel has his boys in line after the loss to Florida, this is also a home game, so the they don’t have to fight the crowds. Texas A&M held their own with Alabama, and seems to be doing well in the games. I think Tennessee is favored by 2 points in this game, so all Indications are that this will be a close match. Max Johnson had his first start of the season last week against Alabama, and was not exactly perfect, but still had 239 yards passing. If they can get the game going on the ground, I think Texas A&M has the defense to make Joe Milton scramble and keep the offense on their heals. 6. Florida at USC- USC is favored in this game. Florida plays Terribly away. Billy Napier is perfectly aware of this, and actually arrived in South Carolina a day earlier so the team can begin preparations. Will this be enough to help the team keep their heads in this important away SEC matchup? It will be a tough one, with Carolina being a bit better on the run and defense than I expected at the beginning of the season. Will this be a head banger? I’m not sure, both teams have been inconsistent. It’ll come down in my opinion to whether Florida’s defense cans step up and get into Rattlers head early to break his confidence. If this happens, Florida should be able to score enough to beat the gamecocks at home. What the Fu- I’ve never been much for listening to the Paul Finbum show……. So today I listened for about 4 minutes….. and what da Fu, now I remember why. God that is hard to listen to when you have people literally calling in to hear themselves talk….. Last Call Who is at the top of your list for Heisman- Michael Penix Jr is the man, But don’t count Shadour Sanders out. He leads the pack in passing yards total, and 2nd in passing yards per game. Surprisingly Carson Beck at Georgia is #4 in total passing yards this season. Ray Davis at Kentucky leads the county in most points, 72 with 12 points per game. Top 10 in rushing yards.
