The word begins in verse 25 like this: “And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, ‘Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?’” A lawyer is a teacher of the law. That man came to Jesus and asked in order to test Him. Satan the devil is the same in the old days and now. In Genesis, too, the fallen angel who opposed God enticed Adam and Eve to oppose God. “Did He say you would die if you ate of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil?
