È quanto fecero, ad esempio, diversi giocatori dei Toronto Raptors nel 2019, dopo la conquista del titolo Nba, il campionato professionistico americano di basket: sfoggiarono maschere da sci e da motocross durante le celebrazioni, contribuendo alla diffusione globale del fenomeno, che peraltro affondava le sue origini addirittura alla metà degli anni 80 grazie al baseball statunitense. Poi li hanno utilizzati i Minnesota Twins nel 2002, sempre nel baseball, il cestista americano Ray Allen nel 2013, che personalizzò una maschera Oakley con i colori dei Miami Heat, fino al celebre tormentone “Where’s my goggles?” di LeBron James nel 2020, come ricorda gazzetta.it.
