One trip in particular stood out, a Christmas in Dubai, made even more memorable by making a conscious decision to leave the phones in the room and focus on spending proper time together. It’s a reminder that while technology keeps us connected, it can also quietly steal attention from the moments right in front of us. We also talked about the idea of setting designated phone-free times during a holiday. Maybe breakfast without screens, an hour by the pool with a book, or evenings spent talking rather than tapping. And then there’s the excuse many people give for not reading on holiday… overpacking.
