A former National MP says the Three Strikes Law made the country no safer. The Government's scrapping the law which was created by Act in the National-led coalition government 11 years ago. It meant people convicted of a third serious violent, sex or drug offence would automatically get the maximum sentence without parole. Former National MP and Government justice advisor Chester Borrows says it meant there was no incentive for people to do rehabilitation programmes.
