A mixed bag in chickens this week as wings continue their assent higher each week. Random breasts did come off as expected and are moving lower and tenders are holding steady for the week. I’m finally seeing lower production numbers around 2% below last year, is 2% that big a deal? In chicken yes, that represents about 5 million birds NOT being produced. I think we will see continued tight supply on wings as prices continue to rise. Ugh… avian flu is back even if only one case, it is there to remind us it has not gone away.
