Chief Kevin Legate: Inside Tuesday's National Night Out at Standish Park

Galesburg Police Chief Kevin Legate joined Galesburg's Morning News live in studio on Monday, Aug. 3, 2026, to preview National Night Out, a free community event set for Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Standish Park, 42 W. Tompkins St. in Galesburg. Now in its sixth year locally, the event brings together the Galesburg Police and Fire departments, the Knox County Sheriff's Office, and more than 30 community groups for an evening built around building trust between residents and first responders.
