Episode Description: A New Life Beginning in 1990In this episode, I want to share a part of my life journey that began in1990, the year I arrived in the United States as a refugee. It was thebeginning of a completely new life. Everything was unfamiliar—newlanguage, new culture, and many obstacles along the way.Starting over was not easy. Life was full of difficulties anduncertainty. I did not speak English, I had no money, and I did not knowhow life in America worked. Like many refugees, my family and I had towork very hard just to survive. We worked long hours and overtime, doingwhatever jobs we could find in order to build a better life.At the beginning, I was not very lucky with my sponsor. They were notkind or supportive, which made the transition even harder. But life alsobrought good people into my path. I met others who had also come toAmerica to start over. Together, we supported one another and workedhard to build a foundation for a new life in this country. Many families like ours worked nonstop. Everyone in the family had tocontribute. We struggled, sacrificed, and pushed forward every day sothat our families could have a better future. Some people were fortunateto have strong support systems and took care of each other along theway. As for me, I was just one person trying to survive. I worked hard eventhough I didn’t know the language and had very little money. The roadwas not easy, but step by step I kept going. Looking back now, I realizethat those struggles shaped who I am today.Life is full of challenges, failures, and mistakes. But thoseexperiences can also strengthen our hearts and teach us valuablelessons. The hardships of the past helped build resilience and couragewithin me.Today, I want to share this story to remind everyone that no matter howdifficult life becomes, we must continue to move forward. Never give up.Every challenge can become a lesson, and every struggle can make usstronger. To anyone who is facing hardship right now—keep fighting, keepbelieving, and keep going. Your journey is not over yet.
