Summary
When we go through sexual trauma, particularly domestic violence, the people we are trying to protect end up being the main people we hurt; our children. The children that we think are not listening, that they are sleeping, that we have covered them....that is not true. Their innocence is taken and they are forced to grow up way too soon. Making sure that we not only get aftercare but that the children do as well so that they can become well-adjusted and productive adults. They do not stay little, so our decisions must not be emotional but what is conducive to what best for them.
