CHIMP AND HUMAN GENOMES COMPARED

We are often told that chimp and humans share 98% of their genes but this claim is based on comparing ONLY the 5% of the genomes that (wait for it) are similar! And when whole genomes are compared the similarity between humans and chimps drops to as little as 70%. In this episode we see that what matters is not so much the genes as the way they are expressed, which differs profoudly between humans and chimps.
