Electricity and Energy Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa is leading a high-level South African delegation to China this week to attract investment in electricity infrastructure and new generation projects. The visit follows Cabinet's approval of key electricity market reforms and comes as government begins implementing the Integrated Resource Plan 2025. South Africa's transmission expansion programme is expected to require more than R2.2 trillion in investment, with discussions focusing on financing and strategic partnerships.
