Christianity - What's the difference? - Audio

Most religions deal with four questions: 1) What is God’s nature like? 2) What is human nature like? 3) What problem does the difference between 1) and 2) create? 4) What is the solution to the problem this difference creates? We will start by looking at the nature of God as revealed in Chapter 1 of the Gospel of John. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome (understood) it. John 1: 1-5 Here is what we can learn about the nature of God from this passage: 1) God existed before anything we know as real existed. He was here at the beginning of our world. He is “self - existent”. He has no beginning, He simply always was. He exists outside of time, He is eternal. 2) God had a word (message) which He wanted to communicate to us. This message was from God, but it is also God himself. 3) This message is a “person” 4) Through this message, that is a personality, that is also God, everything that exists was created. 5) This message contains life, and that life is the light of understanding for all people. 6) The message that is a person, that is God, shines into the darkness of our confusion, but our confusion has not understood it.
