Christina Oyola Is Rising with Resilience

from Uncorked with Funny Wine Girl · host Jeannine Luby

There are days when I'm miserable from a papercut that gets lemon juice in it. Then I meet people who have lived and continue to live through experiences that are much more painful than anything I've known. With that said, I will always believe that we can only truly walk in our own shoes (live our own lives), but we absolutely need to be open to listening and learning from people about their experiences and what they are going through so that we can live empathetically, offering support, kindness and understanding to everyone we encounter. This week, my guest Christina Oyola shares a raw, free-flowing narrative about her life that includes incredibly sensitive and traumatic material. I will caution listeners that parts of the conversation might be difficult to hear and you may choose to jump ahead or skip this episode. Christina talks a bit about suicide, sexual abuse, family trauma and other personal experiences. But Christina also tells a story of resilience! She will soon earn a college degree after studying over the course of 20 years. Christina has not one, but two, business ventures in motion. And she has an incredible mission to help empower other female veterans like herself who have been through generational trauma. To support Christina's mission to help female veterans and to enjoy coffee with a label that's as uplifting as its caffeine, visit her site.https://www.thatdaycompany.com/ And to follow Christina's journey, visit all of her socials accessible from this link.
