SCORES. We’ll start with the men tonight: In men’s non-conference play, No. 1 Denver remained unbeaten with a 6-0 shutout over Yale as Eric Pohlkamp scored twice and Matt Davis made 22 saves. No. 2 Boston College topped No. 10 St. Cloud State 4-1, led by Gabe Perrault’s two goals. Fourth-ranked Minnesota rallied to a 3-1 win over No. 18 Penn State with Jimmy Snuggerud scoring twice. No. 11 Michigan surged in the third with five goals to overcome No. 5 Boston University 5-1, with Evan Werner scoring his first two goals of the season. Ninth-ranked Cornell opened their season strong, defeating No. 6 North Dakota 4-1 with four different players scoring. In Hockey East, No. 7 Maine shut out Merrimack 5-0, as five Black Bears scored, while No. 12 Providence doubled up New Hampshire 6-3 with Ryan O’Reilly scoring twice and Logan Will contributing three assists. No. 15 Ohio State routed Lake Superior State 9-3, scoring four goals in the first and five in the third. In the CCHA, Bemidji State edged No. 16 Minnesota State 1-0 on Carter Randklev’s fourth goal of the season. No. 19 Notre Dame topped Wisconsin 3-2 in overtime, with Cole Knuble scoring the game-winner on the power play. The Badgers dropped to 1-6. UMass Lowell completed a pair of comebacks to defeat Holy Cross 5-4 in overtime with Jak Vaarwerk netting the winner. During one second-period stretch, the River Hawks scored three goals in 58 seconds to go from down 3-0 to tied. They’d rally again to force OT before Vaarwerk won it in the extra frame. Dartmouth outlasted Harvard 2-1, Canisius downed Army West Point 6-1, Niagara beat Mercyhurst 5-3, Bentley defeated Sacred Heart 4-2, St. Thomas shut out Augustana 4-0, Bowling Green blanked Ferris State 2-0, Michigan Tech topped Northern Michigan 3-0 up in the U.P., Alaska defeated Clarkson 3-1, Robert Morris beat Lindenwood 3-1, RPI slipped past Miami 3-2 in overtime, and Stonehill defeated St. Lawrence 4-0. In women’s action: Top-ranked Wisconsin remained unbeaten with a 6-0 shutout over No. 8 St. Cloud State, as Laila Edwards and Cassie Hall each scored twice, helping the Badgers score on their first three shots within the game’s opening minutes. No. 2 Ohio State earned a 5-1 victory over St. Thomas, with Joy Dunne netting two goals giving her 11 on the season.
