Minnesota State stays hot; Gophers outshot, still beat Denver in OT - CHS 12-01-25

MN College Hockey Scoreboard Show For Games from November 25-30 2025 We didn’t have a super full plate of games across the Division I slate, but we had a pretty decent Thanksgiving week of games overall in the State of Hockey, complete with postponements and snowy travel. It’s time for another edition of Minnesota’s College Hockey Scoreboard Show where as always, it’s not about the analysis, it’s not about the breakdowns, it’s JUST. THE. SCORES. AND MAYBE A DAD JOKE OR THREE. Division I Men Minnesota State vs. Northern Michigan Fri: #14 Minnesota State 4, Northern Michigan 0 Sat: #14 Minnesota State 3, Northern Michigan 2 No. 14 Minnesota State kept Northern Michigan winless with a weekend sweep in Marquette. In Game One, Liam Watkins scored twice as the Mavericks prevailed 4-0. Alex Tracy stopped 35 shots for his second shutout of the season. In the series finale, three different players scored and Tristan Lemyre scored his eighth of the year to lift the considerably underranked Mavericks to 10-2-4 on the season. The Mavericks host Ferris State in CCHA action this weekend in Mankato. They’ve won six in a row and haven’t lost in regulation since the season opener against Omaha. North Dakota vs. Bemidji State Fri: #6 North Dakota 5, Bemidji State 3 Sat: #6 North Dakota 2, Bemidji State 1, OT Five different players scored as sixth-ranked North Dakota took the first game of its home-and-home series with Bemidji State 5-3. The Fighting Hawks needed overtime to claim Game Two at the Ralph as Ben Strinden scored his ninth of the years, as did Will Zellers, who scored the OT game-winner. Bemidji State will host Augustana as the teams return to conference action this weekend. St. Thomas vs. Michigan Tech Fri: St. Thomas 3, Michigan Tech 3 (UST wins SO) Sat: St. Thomas 2, Michigan Tech 1 St. Thomas picked up five out of six points on the weekend, tying Michigan Tech in Houghton in Game One and picking up the extra point with the shootout win. Lucas Van Vliet scored twice in Game One, while Game Two also went the Tommies way with a 2-1 win with Van Vliet scoring the eventual game-winner midway through the second. St. Thomas hosts Lake Superior State at “The Penny” this weekend. Sorry Lee, that’s what they’re calling it - not my rules. Minnesota vs. Denver (Hall of Fame Game) Sat: Minnesota 6, #4 Denver 5, OT Despite getting outshot 52-25 and only putting up one shot in overtime, that’s what Minnesota needed to pick off fourth-ranked Denver 6-5 in overtime at Ball Arena in Denver for the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game. Javon Moore found the goal with 35 seconds left in overtime. Six different players scored. The Gophers are sitting 7-9-1 and will head to Columbus to take on Ohio State. Division I Women Bemidji State vs. Lindenwood Fri: Lindenwood 7, Bemidji State 4 Sat: Lindenwood 2, Bemidji State 2 (LU wins SO) It was tough sledding for Bemidji State this weekend and that’s not a pun about the weekend snowstorm through the midwest. Lindenwood took out the Beavers in suburban St. Louis, picking up a 7-4 win on Friday. The teams skated to a 2-2 tie on Saturday with the host Lions taking the shootout, which is essentially meaningless in non-conference action. Bemidji State will host Minnesota-Duluth this weekend. St. Cloud State at D1 in DC (Colgate / Clarkson) Fri: #14 St. Cloud State 3, #12 Colgate 2, OT Sat: #10 Clarkson 2, #14 St. Cloud State 0 No. 14 St. Cloud State played a pair of ECAC regulars in the somewhat annual D1 in DC event in Northern Virginia. Game One saw Sofianna Sundelin score a hat trick, which included the overtime game-winner as the Huskies upended No. 12 Colgate 3-2. The second game saw no offense as Clarkson shut down the Huskies and the No. 10 Golden Knights took a 2-0 win. St. Cloud State will hit the road to take on No. 12 Minnesota State this weekend. Minnesota State vs. Dartmouth Fri: #15 Minnesota State 5, Dartmouth 2 Sat: #15 Minnesota State 5, Dartmouth 0 No. 15 Minnesota State stayed hot, winning their fourth in a row in a weekend sweep over Dartmouth. Five different players scored in Friday’s 5-2 win over the Big Green and the same thing happened again on Saturday as five different players scored in a 5-0 shutout. Lauren Goldsworthy, Mercury Bischoff and Ayla Puppe scored in both games. Bischoff now has 10 goals on the season. The Mavericks will host St. Cloud State this weekend. Division III Men Tuesday Marian 2, Augsburg 1, OT MSOE 6, St. Mary’s 4 Hamline at Concordia-Moorhead — Postponed, rescheduled for February. Minnesota State women sweep Gophers for first time in nearly two decades; Splits abound on the men's side

We’ve got more splits than a bad bowling alley. After a weekend that saw me in Oklahoma, thus, unable to do an adequately mid-job at doing a show, we’re back out of the box and back for another episode of Minnesota’s College Hockey Scoreboard Show. Here’s a tip I learned from our man State of Hoppy - take that Lucky Seven 7th Avenue Pizza, 14 minutes, then finish with a minute or two on broil and BOOM. Scorched roof of your mouth goodness. Probably why I didn’t record this show earlier. And Happy Thanksgiving. For our Canadian Friends, that’s THURSDAY. This week, we start with the women, and here’s why Division I WomenFri: Minnesota State 3, #2 Minnesota 1Sat: Minnesota State 4, #2 Minnesota 1Mercury Bischoff scored a hat trick on Saturday and scored four goals on the weekend as Minnesota State swept No. 2 Minnesota 3-1 and 4-1, giving the Mavericks their first sweep over the Golden Gophers since 2006. I didn’t even know my wife then. I still lived in Pennsylvania and hadn’t yet made the mistake of purchasing my first house with an awful credit score at the age of 27. Anyway. Minnesota State improved to 8-7-1, while the Gophers fell to 12-4. Minnesota State will host Dartmouth in non-conference action this coming weekend, while Minnesota is off until its home-and-home in two weeks with St. Thomas. Fri: #3 Ohio State 3, #5 Minnesota Duluth 1Sat: #3 Ohio State 4, #5 Minnesota Duluth 1Ohio State’s Joye Dunn scored three goals on the weekend as No. 3 Ohio State swept fifth-ranked Minnesota Duluth, picking up a 3-1 win on Friday and a 4-1 win in Duluth on Saturday. The Bulldogs are off until they get back to WCHA action in December at Bemidji State. Fri: #10 St. Cloud State 4, Bemidji State 0Sat: Bemidji State 6, #10 St. Cloud State 5, OTPayton Remick scored twice in No. 10 St. Cloud State's 4-0 win over Bemidji State at the Sanford Center on Friday. The second game was wild, as Bemidji State built a 4-1 lead, then fell behind 5-4, only to tie it up with 30 seconds left and then win it in overtime 6-5. Hailey Armstrong's seventh of the year was the game-winner. Bemidji State goes on the road next week for a non-conference series at Lindenwood, while St. Cloud State will head to D1 in DC to take on Clarkson and Colgate in the nation's capital. Fri: #1 Wisconsin 8, #15 St. Thomas 0Sat: #1 Wisconsin 4, #15 St. Thomas 3, OTTop-ranked Wisconsin rolled past No. 15 St. Thomas on Friday, shutting out the Tommies 8-0 before the Tommies made the Badgers fight for the final game. Wisconsin ultimately prevailed, with Cassie Hall's overtime game-winner giving the Badgers the 4-3 win. It was the sixth OT game this season for the Tommies, who fell to 8-10 overall. The Tommies are off until the aforementioned home-and-home with the Gophers the first weekend of December. Division I MenFri: Minnesota 3, #5 Penn State 2Sat: #5 Penn State 2, Minnesota 1It was a much more believable split this weekend for Minnesota as the Golden Gophers came off last week's split with LIU and promptly split with No. 5 Penn State at 3M Arena at Mariucci. In the opener, three different players scored including Brodie Ziemer's seventh of the year in the Gophers' 3-2 win over the Nittany Lions. On Saturday, Penn State picked up a 2-1 win. The Mavericks blanked the Huskies 3-0 in the first game as it was light work for Alex Tracy, who only had to stop 12 shots in the shutout. Game Two saw three different Mavericks score, including Evan Murr's sixth of the season. Minnesota State will head to the UP to face Northern Michigan this coming weekend. Fri: Bemidji State 7, Northern Michigan 3Sat: Bemidji State 6, Northern Michigan 2Bemidji State put up 13 goals in a pair of games to sweep Northern Michigan 7-3 and 6-2, improving to 9-5-2 and sending Northern to its 14th straight loss to open the season. Connor McClennan scored four goals in the opener, while Oliver Peer put up a hat trick in the second game. Bemidji State stands in first place in the CCHA and will have a home-and-home non-conference series with North Dakota this weekend. Fri: #4 Minnesota Duluth 4, Colorado College 2Sat: Colorado College 2, #4 Minnesota Duluth 1, OT No. 4 Minnesota Duluth took four of six points in a weekend split at Robson Arena in Colorado Springs against Colorado College. The Huskies are off this week and will host North Dakota when conference play kicks back up in December. Division III MenAugsburg vs. St. ScholasticaFri: Augsburg 4, St. Scholastica 1Sat: St. Scholastica 4, Augsburg 1Concordia-Moorhead vs. Gustavus AdolphusFri: Gustavus Adolphus 4, Concordia-Moorhead 3Sat: Gustavus Adolphus 2, Concordia-Moorhead 0Hamline vs. BethelFri: Bethel 4, Hamline 1Sat: Hamline 3, Bethel 2, OTSt. John’s vs. St. OlafFri: St. John’s 2, St. Olaf 1Sat: St. John’s 2, St. Olaf 2 (SJU wins SO) Division III WomenHamline vs. BethelFri: #9 Hamline 1, Bethel 0Sat: Bethel 4, #9 Hamline 0Gustavus Adolphus vs. Concordia-MoorheadFri: Concordia-Moorhead 3, Gustavus Adolphus 2Sat: Gustavus Adolphus 3, Concordia-Moorhead 2St. Mary’s vs. St. CatherineFri: St. Mary’s 4, St. Kate’s 2Sat: St. Kate’s 1, St. Mary’s 0, OTSt. Olaf vs. St. BenedictFri: St. Benedict 1, St. Olaf 0Sat: St. Olaf 5, St. Benedict 1Augsburg vs. St. ScholasticaFri: St. Scholastica 1, #2 Augsburg 1 (CSS wins SO)Sat: #2 Augsburg 6, St. Scholastica 1 I’m Jason Bryant (@jasonmbryant). UMD, Gophers pick up weekend sweeps; MIAC action ramps up

Sports are hard. Trying to maintain your place in college hockey’s upper echelon is also hard. When you think about it, there’s 16 teams that get to make the tournament. There’s six conferences, so that’s five spots you aren’t going to get right off the top. That means you have to be one of the best 11 teams in the country each and every year for your fanbase not to complain that the sky is falling. But that’s sports. Rationality goes out the window. WIth that in mind, here’s this weekend’s Minnesota College Hockey Scoreboard, devoid of breakdowns, analysis or anything outside of the scores. Remember, it’s JUST. THE. St. Thomas will have a home-and-home to open its final CCHA season with Minnesota State. Fri: #18 Minnesota-Duluth 3, #13 Minnesota 0Sat: #18 Minnesota-Duluth 4, #13 Minnesota 1Zam Plante scored his fifth of the season and Adam Gajan picked up his first shutout of the season as No. 18 UMD opened up a weekend series at Mariucci with a 3-0 win over the host Gophers. The Bulldogs outshot the Gophers 24-17. Max Plante scored a pair of goals and No. 18 Minnesota Duluth completed its first sweep of No. 13 Minnesota since 2021 and the first sweep at Mariucci since 2009. The Bulldogs are off to a 7-1 start for the first time since the 1989-90 season. The Gophers fell to 2-5. UMD will open up NCHC play next week in Grand Forks, taking on North Dakota, while the Gophers will have a Thursday-Saturday series at No. 17 Wisconsin to open up Big Ten play. Fri: #20 Minnesota State 4, RPI 2 Sat: #20 Minnesota State 2, RPI 1 In Mankato, 20th-ranked Minnesota State outshot RPI 40-19 as four different player scored as the Mavericks opened up the non-conference series with a 4-0 win. In Game Two, RPI outshot Minnesota State 30-18, but Alex Tracy stopped 29 of those 30 attempts. It was enough as Charlie Lurie’s third goal of the season came 32 seconds into the third period, which was good enough to be the game winner. Minnesota State improved to 3-1-2. RPI is 0-6. Minnesota State will open CCHA play next weekend with a home-and-home with St. Thomas. Fri: Bemidji State 1, Augustana 0, OTSat: Bemidji State 3, Augustana 2Oliver Peer continued his solid early season, scoring his fourth of the year in overtime giving host Bemidji State a 1-0 over Augustana to open up CCHA play. Raythan Robbins stopped 27 shots to earn his first career collegiate shutout. Max Namestnikov scored his first career goal as three different Beavers scored to give Bemidji State a 3-2 win over visiting Augustana to earn the weekend sweep. Bemidji State will head east to take on Bowling Green. Fri: St. Cloud State 5, Alaska Anchorage 2Sat: St. Cloud State 5, Alaska Anchorage 1Five different players scored and Finn Loftus scored his first career goal as St. Cloud State beat old WCHA foe Alaska Anchorage 5-2 on Friday at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center. Austin Burnevik scored twice, giving him eight on the season, which currently stands second in the country behind Penn State’s J.J. Wiebusch. Patriks Berzins stopped 28 shots for his second win of the season, while Aiden Welch scored his first collegiate goal for the Huskies to cap off the homecoming sweep at The Herb. The Huskies host returning national champion Western Michigan to open up NCHC play next weekend. Division I WomenFri: #3 Minnesota 4, #4 Minnesota Duluth 0Sat: #3 Minnesota 3, #4 Minnesota Duluth 2Ava Lindsay scored twice as third-ranked Minnesota scored three second-period goals to skate past host UMD in game one of their WCHA series at Amsoil. Hannah Clark made 24 saves for her third shutout of the season. Abbey Murphy scored twice, giving her a nation-leading 14 goals in the first 10 games of the season as the Golden Gophers finished off the road sweep against fourth-ranked Minnesota Duluth 3-2. Hannah Clark stopped 37 shots. Duluth’s Caitlin Kraemer scored her eight goal of the season, which is fifth in the nation. Minnesota heads to top-ranked Wisconsin next weekend, while UMD heads over to St. Cloud to take on the host Huskies. Sat: #1 Wisconsin 4, Minnesota State 0Sun: #1 Wisconsin 8, Minnesota State 0Four different players scored as top-ranked Wisconsin opened up its Saturday-Sunday series with Minnesota State with a 4-0 win in Madison. It was a rough outing for visiting Minnesota State as the top-ranked Badgers closed out the sweep with an 8-rip shutout of the Mavericks. Eight different Badgers scored, and contrary to what you might have heard on BTN+, it’s highly unlikely Minnesota State’s Avery Stilwell was having too much fun in there in goal. Badgers must have loaded up on that Destination Hydration Jump Around Spring Water … or as we used to call it, BadgerMax. Minnesota State drops to 5-5 on the season and will host Bemidji State next weekend. Bemidji was off this weekend. Fri: #2 Ohio State 5, #10 St. Cloud State 1Sat: #2 Ohio State 4, #10 St. Cloud State 2Sanni Vanhanen scored twice as Ohio State broke open a 2-1 game with three third-period goals. Second-ranked Ohio State rallied from a 2-0 deficit to compete the home sweep over 10th-ranked St. Cloud State with a 4-2 win on Saturday in Columbus. Joye Dunne scored a natural hatty in the third period to give her eight goals on the season. St. Cloud State hosts UMD this coming weekend. Fri: Providence 7, #13 St. Thomas 6, OTSat: #13 St. Thomas 5, Providence 1The women’s debut at Lee & Penny Anderson Arena was an exciting one, but not a winning one for the host St. Thomas Tommies. Despite holding Providence to 14 shots, half of those shots found the net as the Friars picked up a 7-6 overtime win in a wild game in St. Paul on Friday afternoon. Reichen Kirchmair scored four goals, including the game-winner halfway through the extra period. Four different players found the net, including Rylee Bartz, who scored her seventh of the season as the Tommies rebounded from Friday’s heartbreaker with a sound 5-1 win over Providence to earn the home split at the new building. St. Thomas improved to 7-3 and will host Ohio State next weekend. I’m Jason Bryant (@jasonmbryant). Old rivalries rekindled in a weekend full of splits around the State of Hockey - CHS 10-19-25

Splits and ties dominated the scoreboard over the weekend. We had some old WCHA rivalries rekindled, some in-state scraps and some bizarre flips from one game to the next. But that’s all normal in the world of men’s and women’s Division I college hockey - or so I’ve learned. It’s time for Minnesota’s College Hockey Scoreboard Show. We’ll begin on the men’s side … Wisconsin vs Minnesota State (at Wisconsin)Thu, Oct. 16, 2025: #17 Wisconsin 1, #20 Minnesota State 1 (UW wins SO)Fri, Oct. 17, 2025: #17 Wisconsin 2, #20 Minnesota State 2 (UW wins SO) Mike Hastings got the better of his old team if you're looking for a criteria to break ties. On Thursday, No. 17 Wisconsin and No. 20 Minnesota State skated to a 1-1 tie with the Badgers winning in the shootout. On Friday, it was the same, only this time it was a 2-2 tie with the Badgers scoring twice in the second to tie the game and then winning the shootout. Minnesota State hosts RPI in Mankato this coming weekend in a non-conference series. But you knew that. RPI was non-conference, that is. North Dakota vs Minnesota (at North Dakota)Fri, Oct. 17, 2025: #8 North Dakota 5, #13 Minnesota 2Sat, Oct. 18, 2025: #13 Minnesota 5, #8 North Dakota 1 It was a split in Grand Forks with old friends meeting up on the ice at Ralph Engelstad Arena. Emery scored twice on Friday as the Fighting Hawks reeled off four straight goals to pull away. UND outshot the Gophers 32-15 on Friday. Saturday night was tighter on shots as UND held just a three-shot advantage, but five different Gophers scored to spread the wealth and head back to the Twin Cities with the win. Brody Lamb scored his fourth of the season. Minnesota will host UMD this weekend. Minnesota Duluth vs Bemidji State (Home and Home)Fri, Oct. 17, 2025: Minnesota-Duluth 7, Bemidji State 3 (at Bemidji State)Sat, Oct. 18, 2025: Minnesota-Duluth 5, Bemidji State 1 (at UMD)Minnesota-Duluth picked up a sweep over in-state rival Bemidji State on a home-and-home series. Max and Zam Plante each scored twice. On Saturday at AMSoil, UMD jumped out to a 3-0 lead and cruised to a 5-1 victory. Jayson Shaugabay scored twice while Zam Plante added his fourth of the season to lift Duluth to 5-1 on the season. Bemidji State hosts Augustana to open up CCHA play next weekend, while Duluth heads to the Twin Cities for a non-conference series with the Gophers. Air Force vs St. Thomas (at Air Force)Fri, Oct. 17, 2025: St. Thomas 11, Air Force 2Sat, Oct. 18, 2025: Air Force 6, St. Thomas 2 St. Thomas split a wacky series with Air Force in Colorado Springs. In Friday's game, the Tommies scored five first-period goals and continued to pour it on the Falcons. Alex Gaffney, Luc Laylin and Josh Giuliani each scored twice in and 11-2 mudholing at Clune Arena. The 11 goals is a new record in St. Thomas' short tenure as a Division I school. Then came Saturday as Air Force bounced back, picking up a 6-2 win to earn the split. Gaffney and Giuliani picked up the goals in the second game for the Tommies. St. Thomas will open up the brand new Lee & Penny Anderson Arena on Friday as the men and women host Providence. St. Cloud State vs Vermont (at St. Cloud State)Fri, Oct. 17, 2025: Vermont 2, St. Cloud State 1 (OT)Sat, Oct. 18, 2025: St. Cloud State 4, Vermont 0 St. Cloud State earned what could be termed a disappointing split in a weekend series at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center, dropping the first game 2-1 in overtime before rebounding 4-0 on Saturday. Both games looked the same, with one exception - the scoreboard. On Friday, the Huskies outshot the Catamounts 46-21, but Sebastian Tornquist's rebound in the extra period gave Vermont the win. On Saturday, all four Huskies goals came on the powerplay, including a pair by Austin Burnevik. St. Cloud outshot Vermont 45-21 in the series finale. Saturday's series finale was a flip of the script from Friday as Jenessa Gazdik scored the game-winner coming out of the box in overtime as St. Thomas rallied from a two-goal deficit to pick off the host Huskies. St. Thomas is at home to christen its new rink, the Lee & Penny Anderson Arena, against visiting Providence. Gophers end shootout drought; Huskies sweep Beavers; Gopher women sweep; UMD falls in dramatic fashion

Some stellar upsets around college hockey over the weekend, but nothing apocalyptic in the Land of 10,000 Skates. You like that? Yeah, I like that too. Here’s the rundown of action from October 9–12, 2025, on this week’s edition of Minnesota’s College Hockey Scoreboard Show. And for the 54th straight St. Cloud State men’s game, local sponsor Jupiter Moon still hasn’t brought me a scoop. At least my kids love it. I mean, I had some at Albany Pioneer Days last summer, but on to the show. We’ll begin on the men’s side … Boston College made another trip to the Midwest, this time stopping in Minneapolis at 3M Arena at Mariucci. The 11th-ranked Eagles came away 1-0-1 on the weekend, taking Thursday’s opener 3-1 over the 12th-ranked Gophers with goals from three different players, including Drew Fortescue’s second of the season on an empty-netter that iced it. On Friday, the game ended in a 2-2 draw, but there were two notable moments — Dean LeTourneau scored his first collegiate goal after going 0-for during his rookie year at BC, and Minnesota won a shootout for the first time since 2020. Even wilder? It’s the Gophers’ first home shootout win in 17 years. Minnesota rekindles its old WCHA rivalry with that school in Grand Forks this weekend at The Ralph. The first series between future NCHC foes went the way of North Dakota, as the 10th-ranked Fighting Hawks swept the home-and-home with No. 19 St. Thomas, taking Friday’s opener 6-2 at The Ralph and Sunday’s rematch 5-2 at the building formerly known as The X. Five different players scored for North Dakota on Friday, giving Dane Jackson his first win behind the bench as head coach. The Hawks repeated the balanced attack Sunday with five more goal scorers. Lucas Wahlin scored in both games for the Tommies, giving him three goals on the season. As noted earlier, North Dakota hosts the Gophers next weekend in what will surely be a spirited series — and that’s just talking about the stands. St. Thomas heads to Colorado Springs to take on Air Force in a series that may or may not be streamed, depending on the status of the U.S. government. Yes, the shutdown impacted stream staffing at Air Force this past weekend. No. 20 Minnesota State split a weekend set in Omaha against their fellow Maverick brethren. In Friday’s opener, Omaha scored four straight to take a 4-1 lead and cruised to victory. Minnesota State flipped the script on Saturday, never trailing in a 4-1 win over the hosts. All five goals came on the power play, with Charlie Lurie’s first of the year officially going in as the game-winner. Minnesota State heads to Madison next weekend to face former coach Mike Hastings and the Badgers of Wisconsin in a Thursday–Friday series at the Kohl Center. State Street Brats and Ian’s Pizza … Love Madison. Scout Truman and Max Plante each scored their third goals of the year as Minnesota Duluth took the first game of its home series at AMSOIL, beating Augustana 4-1. The second game looked a lot different — the Bulldogs outshot the Vikings 40-16, but Augustana earned a 4-0 win to split the series. Hunter Bischoff scored twice for Augie, including one of two third-period empty-netters. Duluth meets Bemidji State this weekend in a home-and-home: the Beavers host Friday’s opener before UMD closes the series at home. Yeah. Bent Paddle. Speaking of home-and-homes and Bemidji, St. Cloud State swept its series with the Beavers, winning 4-3 at the Sanford Center on Friday and 4-2 at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center on Saturday. Austin Burnevik scored in each game, giving him three goals on the season. Oliver Peer scored twice in Friday’s loss for Bemidji, while Nolan Road netted his first career goal in Saturday’s Husky win. Reilly Funk added his fourth of the year for the Beavers. Bemidji’s Adam Flammang was checked hard into the boards early in the third period and had to be carted off. He gave a thumbs up to his bench as he was taken from the ice — here’s hoping for a safe and speedy recovery for the St. Michael native. Guy’s a real gamer. Get well soon dude. On the women’s side, the national spotlight was on the top-ranked Wisconsin Badgers and the fourth-ranked Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs. If there’s ever a case study in snatching victory from the jaws of defeat — or vice versa — check out the final few minutes of  of Wisconsin’s 4-3 Saturday win. Trailing 3-2, UMD was hit with a five-minute major after Badger coach Mark Johnson challenged for elbowing off a face-off - that grammatically sounds painful as it is. After review, Wisconsin went on the power play with an extra attacker, and Caroline Harvey tied it with 20 seconds left. Off the ensuing face-off, Wisconsin won the draw, skated down, and Cassie Hall buried the game-winner 12 seconds later. That game was straight-up drunk. Wisconsin controlled the second game, peppering Eve Gascon with 54 shots in a 4-0 win. The Badgers improve to 6-0 and are unbeaten in their last 33 dating back to last season. UMD will host Minnesota State this coming week. No. 3 Minnesota swept 10th-ranked St. Cloud State in a home-and-home, taking the first game 4-1 at Ridder with four different Gophers scoring, including the first of three goals on the weekend by Abbey Murphy — she now has 12 on the year. Sarah Paul’s third of the season stood as the game-winner as Minnesota broke a 3-3 tie with a pair of goals in the third. St. Cloud hosts St. Thomas next weekend, while the Gophers welcome second-ranked Ohio State. Speaking of the Buckeyes, they swept visiting Bemidji State in Columbus, scoring on four of their first nine shots in Friday’s 6-0 win. Saturday was tighter — Bemidji grabbed an early lead, but Ohio State came back to win 2-1. Hailey Armstrong scored her sixth of the year for the Beavers, while Hilda Svensson netted the game-winner for Ohio State midway through the second. Bemidji State heads to Mankato next weekend to take on Minnesota State. And speaking of … St. Thomas and Minnesota State split their WCHA weekend in Mankato. On Friday, Teagan Kulenkamp scored her second of the year in overtime to give the Tommies a 2-1 win. Saturday went the Mavericks’ way as Hailey Hanson made 15 saves for the shutout, and three different players scored, including Zoe Lopez’s fourth of the season. I’m Jason Bryant (@jasonmbryant). Gophers split; Tommies top St. Cloud; Duluth, Bemidji roll in Alaska; Murphy scores five as Gopher women sweep BU

It’s the opening weekend of Division I men’s college hockey and the action around the State of Hockey did not disappoint. The outcomes, however, might have been disappointing depending on who you’re a fan of. Here’s the rundown of action from October 3-4, 2025 on this week’s edition of Minnesota’s College Hockey Scoreboard Show - and there will no overstating the impact of Gavin McKenna’s first weekend of college hockey here. We’ll begin on the men’s side … Eighth-ranked Minnesota opened its season with a split against Michigan Tech. On Friday, Brodie Ziemer scored twice and the Gophers exploded for four goals in the third period to top the Huskies 6-3 at Mariucci. A night later, Tech turned the tables, outshooting Minnesota 33-13 and rallying from a 3-2 deficit to take the finale 5-3, giving new head coach Bill Muckalt his first win behind the bench. Byron native Brody Lamb scored his second of the year, while former Gopher Owen Bartoszkiewicz earned the win in net for the Huskies. Nineteenth-ranked St. Thomas made its season debut with a dramatic 4-3 road win at St. Cloud State. The Tommies built a 3-0 lead on goals from Lucas Wahlin, Charlie Shoen, and Jake Braccini before the Huskies battled back to tie it with tallies from Mason Reiners, Noah Urness, and Austin Burnevik. A late five-minute major proved costly as Nathan Pilling buried the game-winner with under five minutes to play, giving St. Thomas the win in its opener. Minnesota-Duluth opened its season with authority, sweeping Alaska in Fairbanks. On Friday, Hermantown brothers Max Plante and Zam Plante combined for three goals — two from Max — in a 5-1 victory. The next night, UMass Lowell transfer Scout Truman scored twice, while Jayson Shaugabay and Harper Bentz each netted their first of the year as UMD completed the sweep 4-1 at the Carlson Center. Bemidji State rolled through its Alaskan trip, matching a program high with nine goals in Friday’s opener, then finishing the sweep with a shutout. In the 9-2 win over Alaska Anchorage, Connor McLennon and Reilly Funk each scored twice. On Saturday, five different Beavers found the back of the net, including Mitch Wolfe and Tory Lund, while rookie goaltender Max Hildebrand stopped 23 shots for a shutout in his first collegiate start. Over to the women’s side, third-ranked Minnesota stayed perfect, sweeping 13th-ranked Boston University. On Friday, Abbey Murphy scored twice and added an assist, and Bella Fanale netted her fourth of the year in a 5-0 win at Walter Brown Arena. Murphy followed with a hat trick on Saturday, giving her nine goals through four games as the Gophers rolled again, 5-2, improving to 4-0 on the year — and 4-0 against the city of Boston. Minnesota State also earned a sweep, handling Lindenwood in Mankato. On Friday, Northfield’s Ayla Puppe scored twice in a 4-0 shutout as the Mavericks outshot Lindenwood 45-17. Saturday’s rematch was tighter, with Makayla Moran netting the game-winner midway through the third for a 3-2 win, pushing Lindenwood to 0-6 on the year — all against WCHA opponents. Bemidji State collected its first wins of the season with a sweep of Robert Morris. On Friday, three different Beavers scored, including Andover native Isa Goettl, and goaltender Kaitlin Groess stopped 12 shots for the shutout in a 3-0 win. Saturday was all Hailey Armstrong, who scored all four Bemidji goals in a 4-1 victory — tying the school record for goals in a game, matching Kerri McEwen’s mark set back in 1999. What’s coming up Looking ahead, the second weekend of Division I men’s hockey features a marquee matchup in Minneapolis as #8 Minnesota hosts #6 Boston College in a Thursday–Friday series at Mariucci Arena. #18 Minnesota State travels west for two games at Nebraska Omaha, while #19 St. Thomas faces #11 North Dakota in a home-and-home — Friday in Grand Forks and Sunday back in St. Paul at Grand Casino Arena. Minnesota Duluth opens its home slate with a non-conference series against Augustana, and St. Cloud State and Bemidji State renew their in-state rivalry with a home-and-home, starting Friday in Bemidji and wrapping up Saturday in St. Cloud. On the women’s side, #3 Minnesota meets #11 St. Cloud State in a home-and-home — Friday at Ridder Arena and Saturday at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center. Top-ranked Wisconsin hosts #5 Minnesota Duluth in a high-profile WCHA clash in Madison. #2 Ohio State welcomes Bemidji State for two, while Minnesota State hosts St. Thomas in a conference matchup in Mankato. Gopher women put up 18 goals in weekend sweep over BC; Huskies split Top 15 series with ... Huskies

Something old, something new, something borrowed and something brewed. That’s right folks, we’re now on board with The Sota Pod, so in addition to shows like Fellowship of the Rink, Judd’z Budz and MNCAA, you’ve got my mild-mannered mid-hockey mind bringing you the quick and dirty from the week in Minnesota college hockey with Minnesota’s College Hockey Scoreboard Show. Just like last time, it’s got nothing of what you don’t need. It’s no breakdowns, it’s no analysis, it’s JUST. THE SCORES. Let’s get to it, as we’re still exclusively playing women’s hockey right now … Third-ranked Minnesota opened its season at home with a dominant sweep over Boston College. On Thursday, Bella Fanale scored twice in her first career game and four other Gophers found the net, including Abbey Murphy, who picked up her 199th career point in a 7–1 win at Ridder Arena. The Gophers outshot BC 48–10, including a 21–0 margin in the first period. Burnsville native Kendra Distad also scored in the opener. On Friday, Murphy netted a hat trick and crossed the 200-point mark for her career in an 11–0 rout. Fanale added a goal and three assists, while Sydney Morrow and Tereza Plosova each scored twice as Minnesota finished the sweep, scoring six times in the third period alone. Sixth-ranked Minnesota Duluth also swept its road trip, shutting out Syracuse in back-to-back games. On Thursday, Caitlin Kraemer tallied her third goal of the year and was joined on the scoresheet by Thea Johannson, Rae Mayer, and Josie St. Martin as the Bulldogs blanked the Orange 4–0. Goaltender Eve Gascon stopped everything she saw for her first shutout of the season and the 12th of her career. Friday’s rematch was another 4–0 UMD victory, with Johannson scoring twice more and Kraemer adding her fourth of the season. Gascon turned aside 13 shots as the Bulldogs returned from New York with a sweep. St. Cloud State split its top-15 matchup with  UConn in Storrs. On Friday, Julianne Labbe scored the game-winner just two minutes into the third period to lift #13 St. Cloud to a 2–1 victory over #12 UConn in front of a program-record crowd of 2,223. The following day, host UConn evened the series with a 2–1 win. Livvy Dewar scored the eventual game-winner late in the second, while St. Cloud’s Sydney Bryant netted her first collegiate goal on a penalty shot early in the period. St. Thomas earned a road sweep at Lindenwood in St. Charles, Missouri. On Friday, the Tommies built a 3–0 lead but saw it erased late before Shoreview native Cara Sajevic buried the game-winner with less than a minute to play for a 4–3 victory. The next afternoon, Keara Parker broke a third-period tie with under five minutes to go as St. Thomas completed the sweep with a 2–1 win. Goaltender Julia Minotti made 27 saves to pick up her second shutout of the young season, helping the Tommies improve to 4–0. Defending national champion Wisconsin opened its year with a lopsided sweep at Bemidji State. Friday’s opener saw Maggie Scannell record a hat trick while Lacey Eden and Kirsten Simms each scored twice in a 9–2 win. Warroad native Kate Johnson and Andover’s Maddie Kaiser provided the goals for Bemidji State. The Badgers closed the series on Saturday with a 5–0 shutout, holding the Beavers to just 12 shots on goal. Scannell added her fourth goal of the weekend while Simms chipped in her third as Wisconsin started its title defense in emphatic fashion. What’s coming upLooking ahead, it’s opening weekend for Division I men’s hockey. #8 Minnesota opens its season at home with a two-game set against Michigan Tech. #18 Minnesota State hosts Lindenwood in Mankato, and #19 St. Thomas plays a single non-conference game Saturday at St. Cloud State. Minnesota Duluth travels to Fairbanks to take on Alaska, while Bemidji State heads north to face Alaska Anchorage. St. Cloud State also hosts Augustana in an exhibition on Friday. On the women’s side, #3 Minnesota travels east for a two-game series at Boston University, while Minnesota State hosts Lindenwood and Bemidji State welcomes Robert Morris. I’m Jason Bryant (@jasonmbryant). Minnesota women's programs open up a combined 8-0 to kickoff season

The puck has dropped on the college hockey season and it’s a pretty solid start for Minnesota schools. This is Minnesota’s College Hockey Scoreboard show, and just like the old version, this 2.0 version is more of the same - no breakdowns, no analysis, it’s JUST. THE. SCORES. The state’s national collegiate women’s hockey teams went a combined 8-0 on the opening weekend of women’s college hockey. Minnesota-Duluth womenSixth-ranked Minnesota Duluth opened its season with a two-game sweep at Mercyhurst in Erie, Pennsylvania. In Friday’s opener, the Bulldogs rallied from a 3–1 deficit to tie the game late on a power play before Caitlin Kraemer netted the overtime winner for a 4–3 victory. Kraemer finished with a goal and an assist, as did Stillwater native Josie St. Martin. Freshman Molly Cole scored her first career goal, and goaltender Eve Gascon made 15 saves. On Saturday, UMD scored four times in the second period on the way to a 5–3 win. Rae Mayer recorded her first collegiate goal, while Chanhassen native Grace Sadura, Thea Johansson, and Ida Karlsson also tallied in the frame. Johansson did so against her old team. Kraemer added her second of the weekend in the third period. Karlsson led the Bulldogs with a goal and an assist, and Gascon stopped 22 shots for her second win of the series. Across the weekend, nine different Bulldogs scored goals and 12 players recorded points. Minnesota State womenMinnesota State opened its 2025–26 season with a sweep at RPI in Troy, New York. On Friday, the Mavericks blanked the Engineers 3–0. Minnetonka’s Lauren Goldsworthy scored twice, including an empty-netter late in the third, while freshman Zoe Lopez, from Plymouth, added another empty-net goal. Goaltender Hailey Hansen of Blaine recorded the shutout in her first start of the year. Saturday’s rematch saw the Mavericks pull away in the third period for a 5–3 win. Lopez scored again and added an assist, freshman Lucie Tenenbaum netted her first career goal, and fellow rookie Mercury Bischoff of Cohasset scored for the first time as well. Prior Lake native Ava Guillemette also scored, while Hansen stopped 18 shots to secure the sweep. St. Cloud State womenNo. 13 St. Cloud State opened the Mira Jalosuo era with back-to-back 5–0 shutouts over Lindenwood in St. Cloud. In Friday’s opener, five different Huskies scored, including freshmen Julianne Labbé and Maria Mikaelyan with their first collegiate goals, while goaltender Emilia Kyrkkö stopped all 18 shots for the shutout. Alice Sauriol and Sofianna Sundelin each had a goal and an assist. Yrjölä had a three-point game, Jackel posted a goal and assist, and goalie Jojo Chobak made 22 saves for her 10th career shutout. The sweep marked the fourth straight year St. Cloud has opened with a series win and the first time in program history starting a season with consecutive shutouts. Boston U. pummels Providence; UConn, Northeastern pick up Husky double - CHS 3-6-25

It’s the #CollegeHockeyScoreboard Show for March 6, 2025. This one’s still on the road in Little Rock, but I’m going to cheat tonight. You’re not hearing my voice. I tagged a bot in for this one. But even with a bot, it’s still just the scores.Northeastern secured a 2-1 victory over Merrimack at Lawler Rink.  Cam Lund opened the scoring with a power-play goal in the first period, marking his fifth goal in as many games. The Huskies held their one-goal advantage until late in the third when sophomore Dylan Hryckowian doubled the lead. Merrimack responded with an extra-attacker goal but couldn’t find the equalizer. Northeastern goaltender Cameron Whitehead made 28 saves, while Joaquim Lemay contributed two assists and a career-high five blocked shots.\ Boston University dominated No. 6 Providence with an 8-2 win on Thursday at Agganis Arena, locking up the No. 3 seed in the Hockey East Tournament. Freshman Cole Eiserman recorded his second hat trick of the season, while junior Quinn Hutson set a career high with four assists. The Terriers built a 4-0 lead after the first period and extended it to 6-0 before Providence got on the board. BU netminder Mikhail Yegorov stopped 34 shots in the victory. The Terriers will host a quarterfinal game in the Hockey East Tournament on March 15. UConn wrapped up the regular season with a 4-1 win over Vermont, clinching the No. 4 seed in the Hockey East playoffs. Joey Muldowney scored twice, while Jake Richard extended his point streak to 10 games with a pair of goals. Freshman goaltender Callum Tung made 27 saves, including a key stop on a third-period breakaway to maintain the Huskies’ lead. Vermont broke the shutout with under four minutes left, but UConn responded with an empty-net goal to seal the win. I’m NOT Jason Bryant, but he’s on the socials at jasonmbryant . Northeastern drops top-seeded UConn, while BU tops BC in Hockey East; LIU, Sacred Heart to meet for NEWHA crown - CHS 3-5-25

Greetings from Wichita, home of the ECHL’s Wichita Thunder. It’s the #CollegeHockey Scoreboard Show for March 5, 2025. Postseason hockey is the best hockey, right? Maybe a bit more than the scores as we’re whittling down the teams in the 2024-25 season, but here’s the scores. The stage is set for the Hockey East Championship after two thrilling semifinal matchups. Fifth-seeded Northeastern pulled off a comeback win over top-seeded UConn, 3-1, to advance to its ninth straight title game. UConn struck first on a power-play goal in the second period, but Skylar Irving took over in the third, scoring twice to flip the game in Northeastern’s favor. Junior Lily Brazis added an insurance goal, and freshman goalie Lisa Jönsson made 36 saves to backstop the Huskies - the Northeastern ones - into the final. Their opponent will be Boston University, after a dramatic double-overtime victory over Boston College. Graduate student Lindsay Bochna played the hero, knocking in the game-winner off a rebound to lift BU past BC, 3-2. The Terriers erased deficits of 1-0 and 2-1 with goals from Clara Yuhn and Riley Walsh to force extra time. Senior Callie Shanahan was lights out in net, finishing with 38 saves, including 18 after the second intermission. Northeastern and BU will clash for the Hockey East crown on Saturday at noon, with the game airing live on ESPNEWS. In the NEWHA Tournament, LIU secured its spot in the championship game with a 2-0 shutout over Post at Northwell Health Ice Center. Ryane Kearns put the Sharks ahead just 28 seconds into the second period, and Jeannie Waller added a third-period goal to seal the win. Goaltender Abbie Thompson stopped all 14 shots she faced for her third consecutive shutout, pushing LIU’s tournament scoreless streak to eight periods. The top-seeded Sharks now prepare to face Sacred Heart, who blanked Saint Anselm 3-0 behind a stellar 50-save effort from Carly Greene. Bria Holm, Sami Bowlby, and Grayson Limke provided the scoring to send the Pioneers to the final. LIU and Sacred Heart will battle for the NEWHA championship and an NCAA tournament berth on Saturday at 7 p.m. I’m Jason Bryant (@jasonmbryant). Wrapping up the weekend with regular season cup winners and women's playoff action - CHS 3-2-25

It’s the #CollegeHockey Scoreboard Show for March 1-2, 2025. No excuses. I’m just a busy guy this time of year. Oh by the way, that whole four-overtime thriller in Division III women’s action was at Augsburg, where I spent Friday and Saturday announcing a regional wrestling championship. Anyway. I’ve got wrestling content in my main life. This is hockey life, where there’s No breakdowns. No Analysis. It’s JUST. THE. SCORES. Let’s start with the women, who are full on into the postseason, with four series (or serieses?) being pushed to a third game on Sunday. In Atlantic Hockey America, No. 8 Penn State finished off RIT with a 4-0 shutout to sweep its AHA semifinal series, while Mercyhurst evened its series with Syracuse at 1-1 with a 4-0 win on Saturday and then put five in the net to advance to the finals to face Penn State after a 5-2 win over Syracuse. In the Hockey East quarterfinals, No. 15 Boston College edged Maine 4-3, Northeastern clipped Providence 3-2, No. 14 Boston University needed overtime to get past Vermont 4-3, and No. 12 UConn blanked Merrimack 4-0. The ECAC quarterfinals saw No. 5 Colgate sweep No. 13 Princeton with a 2-1 win, while No. 9 Clarkson forced a decisive third game by beating No. 10 Quinnipiac 2-1. No. 3 Cornell completed a 2-0 series sweep over Union with a 3-2 victory, and No. 7 St. Lawrence took its series over Yale with a 4-3 win. On Sunday, No. 9 Clarkson advanced to the ECAC semifinals, eliminating No. 10 Quinnipiac with a 4-1 win in the deciding game. In the NEWHA quarterfinals, Sacred Heart, Post, and LIU all completed two-game sweeps, while St. Anselm forced a deciding third game with a 4-3 win over Stonehill. That third game was won by St. Anselm 4-2. Top-ranked Wisconsin dominated Bemidji State 11-0 to complete a WCHA quarterfinal sweep. Minnesota State stunned No. 4 Minnesota 5-4 in overtime to even that series at 1-1, while No. 6 Minnesota-Duluth edged No. 11 St. Cloud State 2-1 to advance. No. 2 Ohio State wrapped up its series against St. Thomas with a 4-1 win. On Sunday, the No. 4 Golden Gophers rebounded to take the series over Minnesota State with a 6-2 win. On the men’s side of things, Third-ranked Michigan State took care of business in the Big Ten with a 5-2 win over Notre Dame, while No. 2 Minnesota topped No. 15 Penn State 5-3. The Gophers and Spartans finished the regular season tied for the title with 50 points. In the CCHA, No. 14 Minnesota State handled Bemidji State 5-1 to claim regular season championship and the Mavericks’ ninth MacNaughton Cup. Bowling Green edged Lake Superior State 4-3, St. Thomas slipped past Michigan Tech 2-1, and Northern Michigan and Ferris State skated to a 4-4 tie before NMU secured the extra point in the shootout. ECAC action saw Colgate roll over Union 5-1, Cornell shut out RPI 6-0, Dartmouth cruise past Yale 5-1, and Brown and Harvard battle to a 3-3 tie before Brown took the shootout. Princeton outlasted Clarkson 4-3 in overtime, while Quinnipiac blanked St. Lawrence 4-0 to clinch the Bobcats’ fifth straight Cleary Cup which goes to the regular season champion in the ECAC. In Hockey East, top-ranked Boston College and New Hampshire finished tied at 1-1, but BC took the extra point in the shootout. No. 9 UConn dominated Northeastern 7-1, No. 17 UMass bested No. 16 UMass Lowell 5-3, No. 7 Providence edged Merrimack 2-1, and No. 5 Maine held off Vermont 4-3. In the NCHC, Omaha upset No. 12 Arizona State 4-2, Minnesota-Duluth and Miami played to a 1-1 tie before UMD won the shootout, No. 18 North Dakota scored late, forced OT and then picked off No. 4 Western Michigan 4-3 in overtime, and St. Cloud State knocked off No. 6 Denver 2-1. In Atlantic Hockey’s first round, Air Force outlasted Robert Morris 4-3 in overtime, while Canisius shut out Mercyhurst 2-0. In non-conference action, LIU blanked Alaska 2-0. I mistakenly posted an incorrect score on Friday’s recap show. AIC beat RIT on Friday, not the other way around And yes, there comes a time when you have do to that whole mea culpa thing. I make mistakes. Often times, it’s simply reading a box score and transposing some numbers when I write the script. If you’ve ever heard me botch something and just move on - that’s what happens. I’ll either get it the next time through, or I just won’t dwell on it knowing the shelf life of these episodes are usually 24-48 hours. If you heard something here that was incorrect and you went with it - that’s on me. I am a bit of a stickler for fast and complete results, but sometimes I’ll read something on a score the next day, go back and see something and I could have sworn it wasn’t that way when I typed it in. I’m not proud of it. This first season of the show has been a lesson in brevity, self-editing and more importantly education. I wanted to learn more about college hockey and use my skillset that I’ve helped enhance with wrestling to the sport I’ve quickly developed a fondness for. I hate mistakes. I hate boneheaded mistakes even more. Doesn’t mean they won’t happen. But when they do, and I identify the point of failure - whether it be my fault or the fault of whatever it is I’m getting the information from - I’ll still own that it falls on me. Buckeyes beat Wolverines in OT, while Minutemen and River Hawks tie in Hockey East - CHS 2-27-25

It’s the #CollegeHockey Scoreboard Show for February 27, 2025. I was in a hockey rink today, only it was covered in wrestling mats. XCel Energy Center in St. Paul is a great place to watch any type of hockey. It’s also a great place for the Minnesota state wrestling championships - even if the HS league itself can’t be bothered by blogs, podcasts or anything that isn’t legacy media. Anyway. Two games on Thursday. No breakdowns. No Analysis. It’s JUST. THE. SCORES. #8 Ohio State 2, #11 Michigan 1, OTWilliam Smith scored the game-winner 82 seconds into overtime as eighth-ranked Ohio State kept its hopes of overtaking second place in the Big Ten alive with a 2-1 win in Columbus over That School Up North. They'll do it again on Friday. #17 UMass 2, #16 UMass Lowell 2 (UMass wins SO) Cole O'Hara scored his 19th of the year to forge a 2-2 tie with host UMass and rival UMass Lowell. The Minutemen picked up the extra Hockey East point with the shootout win. They'll finish up the series, this time in Lowell to close out the home-and-home on Saturday. BC women knock off No. 15 Northeastern; Holy Cross sweeps Vermont - CHS 2-16-25

It’s the #CollegeHockey Scoreboard Show for February 16, 2025. We’ve only got two games, both women and both in Hockey East to close out the week - or start the week if you’re one of these people who thinks like a calendar and thinks the week BEGINS on a Sunday. Why else would Saturday/Sunday be called a WEEKEND if it wasn’t ENDING a week. Boom. Roasted. Semantics aside, and I don’t care if you’re right and I’m wrong, one thing is certainly right - here, you’ll get none of that analysis, none of those breakdowns, you’ll get Just. The. Scores. Julia Pellerin's power-play goal with just under nine minutes remaining was the game-winner as Boston College moved into a tie for third in Hockey East with two games left in the season after a 3-2 win over No. 15 Northeastern at Matthews Arena on Sunday. It was Pellerin's 17th of the season for the Eagles, who like Northeastern are now 19-12-1 on the season. BC sits 13th, Northeastern 14th in the pairwise. BC finishes up with New Hampshire, while Northeastern will take on Vermont. Holy Cross completed a sweep of Vermont with a 3-1 win at home. Lulu Rourke scored twice to lift the Crusaders. As noted earlier, Vermont will close hosting Northeastern next week, while Holy Cross visits Maine. I’m Jason Bryant (@jasonmbryant). Boston University. Beanpot. Battlestar Galactica - CHS 2-10-25

It’s the #CollegeHockey Scoreboard Show for February 10, 2025. Beanpot. Boston. Battlestar Galactica. That’s right—it’s time for that savory hockey treat everyone loves on a Monday in February: the DUNKIN’ Men’s Beanpot. No analysis, no breakdowns—well, maybe a little today, but mostly the scores. No. 9 Boston University claimed its 32nd Beanpot title with a 4-1 win over No. 1 Boston College at TD Garden. After trailing early, BU struck twice in 70 seconds with goals from freshmen Brandon Svoboda and Cole Hutson. Cole Eiserman added insurance in the third before Gavin McCarthy sealed it with an empty-netter. Mikhail Yegorov was stellar in net, stopping 43 shots to earn the Eberly Award. Despite controlling the first period, BC led just 1-0 before BU’s second-period surge. Hutson’s game-winner earned him Beanpot MVP honors, while BU’s penalty kill shut down BC’s three power plays. The Terriers (16-10-1) now prepare for No. 7 Providence in a weekend home-and-home. In the Third Place Game, Harvard buried four power-play goals, including two from Mason Langenbrunner, to edge Northeastern 4-3. The Crimson took over in the second period and locked down the win in the third. I’m Jason Bryant (@jasonmbryant). Leave a rating, review, or feedback at collegehockeyscoreboardpod.com. It’s the #CollegeHockey Scoreboard Show for February 7, 2025. Busy Friday. Fun Stuff. No Breakdowns. No Analysis. No cheeky commentary in the open. Just. The. Scores. We begin with the men where top-ranked Boston College extended its winning streak to nine games with a 4-2 victory over New Hampshire, getting goals from four different players. No. 13 Michigan stunned second-ranked Michigan State as Garrett Shifsky’s 10th of the year came with under a minute to go, lifting the Wolverines to a 2-1 win. Fourth-ranked Western Michigan rolled past St. Cloud State 4-0, fueled by a hat trick from Tristan Lemyre, who doubled his season goal total in the process, while Cameron Rowe stopped 24 shots in the shutout. Fifth-ranked Maine battled back twice in the third period to force overtime against No. 7 Providence before skating to a 3-3 tie, though the Black Bears secured the extra point in the shootout. No. 6 Denver survived a wild one in Tempe, edging No. 12 Arizona State 5-4 in overtime as Aiden Thompson buried the game-winner from the left hash for his second goal of the night. Bentley edged Robert Morris 1-0, and Army West Point and Sacred Heart finished in a 2-2 tie before Army claimed the shootout win. In the CCHA, Bemidji State downed Michigan Tech 5-3, Lake Superior State edged Northern Michigan 3-2, and Bowling Green handled St. Thomas 4-1. ECAC action saw Clarkson defeat Princeton 4-1, Dartmouth get past Harvard 3-2, Cornell beat RPI 4-2, and Union and Colgate finish in a 2-2 draw with Union taking the shootout win. Omaha picked up a 4-1 win over Minnesota-Duluth in the NCHC, and in non-conference play, LIU edged Lindenwood 3-2. To the women! Second-ranked Ohio State pulled off a dramatic comeback, erasing a 4-2 deficit with three straight goals, including an extra attacker tally in the final 40 seconds, before Joy Dunne netted the game-winner just 69 seconds into overtime for a 5-4 win over St. Thomas. Brown, LIU men win on Thursday as do BC, New Hampshire women - CHS 2-6-25

It’s the #CollegeHockey Scoreboard Show for February 6, 2025. Four games on the schedule on Thursday - two men, two women and all of them northeast of New Jersey. It’s Team Pork Roll all the way here, sorry Taylor Ham stans. No breakdowns. No analysis. Its. Just. The. Scores. And elite food takes. Come at me bro.We begin with the men where Max Scott scored his 12th of the year and Ryan St. Louis added a goal as Brown evened its record at 10-10-2 with a 2-1 win at Yale. The Bears sit in eighth in the ECAC standings, just seven points back of fifth place, though. In the wacky world of the independents, Josh Zary scored his ninth of the season as LIU improved to 14-11-2 with a 4-2 win over visiting Lindenwood. Hashtag SHORK? On the women’s side, seven different players scored as No. 15 Boston College exploded for four goals in the second period en route to a 7-1 win at Conte against visiting Vermont. The Eagles were the only ranked team to hit the ice tonight and it showed. Kira Juodikis' 12th of the year came in overtime as New Hampshire blew a 3-0 lead but held on to get the win to improve to 14-14-1 with a 3-2 win over Merrimack. I’m Jason Bryant @jasonmbryant on the socials and leave a rating, review or some feedback on the show at collegehockeyscoreboardpod.com and that’s all we’ve got for the #CollegeHockey Scoreboard Show for February 6, 2025.The Sota Pod is dedicated to covering anything & EVERYTHING when it comes to hockey or craft beer in the great state of Minnesota. The Sota Pod (Apple Podcasts): https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-sota-pod/id1495602444YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@thesotapod

BU women prevail in overtime; Bentley men stop Army's win streak + a standings rundown - CHS 2-4-25

It’s the #CollegeHockey Scoreboard Show for February 4, 2025. While the Men’s Beanpot finishes up next week, we had two of the Boston teams in the mix. Like always, there’s no breakdowns, no analysis, it’s just the scores. And sometimes a bad joke - or did I say dad joke? They’re one and the same in my world. We start with the women tonight.  Alex Law's seventh goal of the year came in overtime to lift No. 14 Boston U. to a 3-2 win over No. 13 Northeastern. The Terriers sit alone atop Hockey East with 50 points, four points ahead of second-place UConn and now nine up on Northeastern. The only game on the schedule on the men’s side took place in Atlantic Hockey. Bentley rallied from a 2-0 deficit and ended Army West Point's five game winning streak as the Falcons moved within one point of second place in the conference with a 5-2 win. Ryan Mansfield scored two goals for the Falcons. Let’s set the table with the conference standings heading into this weekend’s action. Once again, we start with the women and with the craziest race: the ECAC.Cornell leads Colgate by a point and a half for first, followed by St. Lawrence, 5.5 points back from Colgate. Quinnipiac’s in fourth, four points behind St. Lawrence. In Hockey East, I already gave you the nuts and bolts of that above. BC is in fourth, two points behind Northeastern. In the WCHA, Wisconsin is 17 points up on second-place. The No. 1 Badgers have 65 points. Minnesota and Ohio State are tied with 48 points in second, but the Gophers have two games in hand. Duluth is in fourth with 36 points. In Atlantic Hockey America, Penn State has 45 points and is 10 points up on second place Mercyhurst. Syracuse is nine points back of Mercyhurst. In the NEWHA, it’s a tight race with all teams having played 22 games. With three series left to go, Sacred Heart is in first with 45 points, leading second-place LIU by two points. Franklin Pierce is third with 39 and Stonehill and St. Anselm are tied in fourth with 35 points each. On the men’s side, most teams have 4-5 series’ left in their schedule. In Atlantic Hockey America, Sacred Heart has 46 points, five points up on second-place Holy Cross and six points up on Bentley. Niagara’s in fourth with 39 points. The Big Ten is a two-horse race with Michigan State leading with 40 points, two ahead of second-place Minnesota. Both teams have played 18 conference games. Ohio State’s in third with 28, followed by Michigan with 25 and Wisconsin with 24. So still the chance for a lot of movement from 3-5. With Augustana playing an abbreviated conference schedule in the CCHA, the Vikings do lead in points percentage. They’ll only play 16 conference games this year. They’re in a good position to lock up the tournament’s top seed. Minnesota State’s in second, followed by Michigan Tech and Bowling Green. Much like the women, the ECAC is also a tight race with the top five teams all separated by five points. Quinnipiac leads with 30 points, followed by Colgate, which has 29. Dartmouth and Union are tied in third with 26, while Clarkson has 25 in fifth. In Hockey East, Boston College has a three-point lead over Maine 35-32, while Boston U. Is third with 31 points. UConn sits in fourth with 26, followed by UMass Lowell with 25. In the NCHC, Arizona State and Western Michigan are tied in first with 34 points, which is what everyone had on their preseason polls right? Omaha’s in third with 31 points. North Dakota and Denver are fourth and fifth with 25 and 24 points. I’m Jason Bryant @jasonmbryant on the socials and leave a rating, review or some feedback on the show at collegehockeyscoreboardpod.com and that’s all we’ve got for the #CollegeHockey Scoreboard Show for February 4, 2025.The Sota Pod is dedicated to covering anything & EVERYTHING when it comes to hockey or craft beer in the great state of Minnesota. The Sota Pod (Apple Podcasts): https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-sota-pod/id1495602444YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@thesotapod

It’s the #CollegeHockey Scoreboard Show for January 25-26, 2025. Long night on Saturday, some technical difficulties there, so we grouped everything from Saturday and Sunday into this smashup. I would apologize, but this show is free - so I’m not going to. I’m also not going to apologize for a lack of breakdowns or analysis. I’ve told you again and again. It’s just the scores. I don’t need to litter up the college hockey podcast space with more bad takes. I’m not an elite hockey mind - YET.We’ll start with men’s action on Saturday:In Hockey East, #1 Boston College edged #8 Boston University 2-0, with Teddy Stiga’s powerplay goal proving decisive before Ryan Leonard’s empty-netter sealed it. In NEWHA action, Ashley Morrow scored twice as LIU defeated Sacred Heart 3-0, moving into a tie with the Pioneers atop the standings. To the men where Bemidji State celebrated its 1,200th program win by snapping a five-game winless streak with a 2-1 victory at St. Thomas. According to our man Beaver Territory, they’ve got 414 of those in their Division I era. I was in Bemidji earlier this year for a game - took a picture with some big dude wearing plaid and had some beverages at Bemijdi Brewing. 10/10 would recommend. The Brewery. In non-conference men’s play, Princeton edged Bentley 1-0 in overtime, while Brown downed Stonehill 5-2. I’m Jason Bryant @jasonmbryant on the socials and leave a rating, review or some feedback on the show at collegehockeyscoreboardpod.com and that’s all we’ve got for the #CollegeHockey Scoreboard Show for January 25-26, 2025.The Sota Pod is dedicated to covering anything & EVERYTHING when it comes to hockey or craft beer in the great state of Minnesota. The Sota Pod (Apple Podcasts): https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-sota-pod/id1495602444YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@thesotapod

It’s the #CollegeHockey Scoreboard Show for January 17-18, 2025. In case you’re wondering, another busy weekend for me on the mic - this time back with the frozen - and I DO MEAN FROZEN - landscape here in Minnesota. Game time temperature on Saturday was ZERO. So here’s the quick hits on what went down on Friday and Saturday. No breakdowns, no analysis, it’s JUST. THE. SCORES. On the Men’s sideIn the Big Ten, #10 Michigan edged #1 Michigan State 3-2 in overtime on Friday, but Michigan State bounced back with a 4-1 win on Saturday.  #3 Minnesota defeated Notre Dame 5-2 on Friday, but Notre Dame rebounded with a 4-3 overtime win Saturday. Michigan State leads the Big Ten with 32 points, one ahead of second-place Minnesota. Clarkson has three in hand and sits seven points back with Union, but Union’s only got one in hand. Might have to get you a proverb book or something.  In the CCHA, Michigan Tech and #12 Minnesota State split with Tech winning 1-0 in overtime after a 5-2 loss Friday. Bowling Green and Ferris State also split with close victories for both. Northern Michigan’s won three of its last four after starting out 1-18-1 in the first 20 games of the Dave Shyiak era.  The Wildcats swept Bemidji State 4-1 and 3-1, while St. Thomas edged Lake Superior State with an overtime win on Friday and a tie and shootout win on Saturday.  Since Augustana has basically half a conference schedule, the CCHA is using points percentage this year to determine its standings and right now, Minnesota State is standing just below 73 percent, ahead of second-place Augustana which is at the 66666 repeating. In Atlantic Hockey, Sacred Heart swept American International, 5-2 and 6-3. Army West Point defeated Air Force twice, 3-2 and 4-3. Holy Cross won both games against Bentley, 3-2 in overtime and 5-1. Minnesota and Ohio State are tied with 39 points, but Minnesota has two games in hand. Minnesota-Duluth is fourth in the conference, fourth in the nation and fifth in the pairwise. In the ECAC, #5 Colgate beat #10 Quinnipiac 4-2 and later shut out #13 Princeton 4-0. #6 Cornell posted a pair of strong victories, defeating #13 Princeton 6-1 and #10 Quinnipiac 4-1. Yale upset #7 Clarkson 2-1, while Brown edged out #8 St. Lawrence 4-3 and later topped #7 Clarkson 3-2 in overtime. #8 St. Lawrence bounced back with a 1-0 shutout over Yale. Colgate and Cornell are tied atop the ECAC with 33 points each, St. Lawrence is a half-point behind in third. All three teams are in the top eight in the pairwise. In the Atlantic Hockey America, #9 Penn State edged Syracuse 1-0 in overtime and followed with a 4-0 win. Mercyhurst earned two wins over Lindenwood, 3-1 and 5-2. New Hampshire upset #14 Boston U. 2-0. Boston College and UConn sit atop of Hockey East with 37 points, with Boston U. one point behind but with a game-in-hand. Northeastern is fourth, four points behind BU. Boston College sits ninth in the pairwise, while the rest of Hockey East is currently outside of the cutline. In the NEWHA, LIU beat Assumption twice, 3-1 and 2-1. St. Anselm beat St. Michael’s 3-1 before losing 2-1 on Saturday. Stonehill tied Sacred Heart 3-3, winning in the shootout, and then shut them out 3-0. LIU and Sacred Heart are tied atop the NEWHA with 36 points. Franklin Pierce is third with 33 points. NEWHA will be a one-bid league this year again. Since Mike McMahon handles the men’s pairwise breakdowns in his newsletter on Mondays, I won’t go that route, but since there isn’t a regular feature on that for the women, here’s my attempt.Current cutline is 10 as Penn State out of Atlantic Hockey America sits seventh. To borrow Mike McMahon’s methodology, the WCHA would have four of the 11 teams - Wisconsin, Ohio State, Minnesota and Minnesota-Duluth, assuming one of the four there is the conference tournament winner. Give the AQ’s to Penn State out of Atlantic Hockey and Boston College out of Hockey East, despite that race being wide open. The ECAC has four - Cornell, Colgate, St. Lawrence and Quinnipiac. The 11th spot would go to the NEWHA winner. I’m Jason Bryant @jasonmbryant on the socials and leave a rating, review or some feedback on the show at collegehockeyscoreboardpod.com The Sota Pod is dedicated to covering anything & EVERYTHING when it comes to hockey or craft beer in the great state of Minnesota. The Sota Pod (Apple Podcasts): https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-sota-pod/id1495602444YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@thesotapod

Boston U., Northeastern prevail in Women's Beanpot; BC men take down Harvard in not-Beanpot action - CHS 1-14-25

It’s the #CollegeHockey Scoreboard Show for January 14, 2025. I made chili today, there were plenty of beans, even though some people will sit there and insist chili shouldn’t have beans. No one asked you. Speaking of beans, it’s the Women’s Beanpot and that’s where we’ll go first. As always, you don’t come to me for breakdowns or analysis, I got what you crave. JUST. THE. SCORES. Women’s Beanpot#15 Northeastern 4, #12 Boston College 2No. 15 Northeastern jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period and took out No. 12 Boston College 4-2 to advance to next week’s Women’s Beanpot finals. Harvard went up 1-0 early in the third, but Sydney Healey’s extra attacker goal with under a minute left gave the Terriers life. Bochna finished off the Crimson with just over a minute left in the extra frame. The other game on the docket saw #6 Cornell explode for five straight goals after falling behind 2-0, including three to start the third period in a 6-3 win over Syracuse. Lindzi Avar scored her eighth of the year, while Karel Prefontaine netted her sixth of the year. Syracuse’s Bryn Saarela scored her 13th of the season for the Orange.Men’s NOT Beanpot#2 Boston College 3, Harvard 1In not-yet-Beanpot action in Chestnut Hill, No. 2 Boston College improved to 14-4-1 with a 3-1 win at Conte over Harvard. Teddy “USA” Stiga, Will Vote, and Brady Berard each scored for the Eagles.Robert Morris vs. CanisiusThis one was postponed due to severe winter weather. See, when I hear severe winter weather and it’s Western PA, then I believe it. Not like this chrud we had in Virginia last week. And when I say chrud, I don’t mean the statistical measure by the Husky Hockey Podcast. I mean crappy weather, which is something we know a little bit about here in Minnesota. Donchaknow. I’m Jason Bryant @jasonmbryant on the socials and that’s your College Hockey Scoreboard for January 14, 2025.The Sota Pod is dedicated to covering anything & EVERYTHING when it comes to hockey or craft beer in the great state of Minnesota. The Sota Pod (Apple Podcasts): https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-sota-pod/id1495602444YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@thesotapod

A Weekend Wrap-up complete with a dusting of Virginia snow - CHS 1-12-25

It’s the #CollegeHockey Scoreboard Show for January 10-12, 2025. No, I’m not a slacker - this show’s more a hobby. There’s that other sport that involves cauliflower ear that’s my actual main job, so I was on the road doing things for that wrestling stuff back in my home state of Virginia where school systems pulled high school teams out of competition for what amounted to be a dusting of snow. That’s just soft. Not like here, where my wife shoveled the driveway AFTER putting the kids on the bus in the snow.  It’s no breakdowns, no analysis, it’s JUST. THE. SCORES. And this time - I really just mean ONLY the scores.Men’s Weekend Recap:In the Big Ten, #1 Michigan State took four of six points in its weekend series with Penn State, winning 6-4 on Friday before falling in a shootout after a 2-2 tie on Saturday. #3 Minnesota had a split weekend, losing 5-1 to #11 Ohio State on Friday but bouncing back with a dominant 6-1 win on Saturday. So if you hear me say split, and it’s like a win and an OT win, don’t put too much thought into it - I clearly didn’t. I also think the USCHO voters might need to look at the NCHC teams a little bit differently after recent slides. Moving on.In the ECAC, #19 Clarkson topped Union 5-3 on Friday, but RPI flipped the script with a 4-1 upset of Clarkson on Saturday. #20 Quinnipiac defeated Princeton 4-2 and 3-0. It’s the #CollegeHockey Scoreboard Show for January 7, 2025. Light night on the ice with everything taking place in New England.  It’s no breakdowns, no analysis, it’s JUST. THE. SCORES. On the men’s side, No. 5 Providence used two third-period goals to claim a 2-0 Mayor’s Cup win over cross-town rival Brown. Logan Will and Hudson Malinoski scored for the Friars, who now sit at 15-3-2. In Atlantic Hockey, American International erupted for eight goals in an 8-2 win over Army West Point in Springfield - the home of the Basketball Hall of Fame and the place formerly known as Rockin’ Rollin’ Riverside - I spent a summer up there in 1992. I never went to either place. That summer sucked.
What didn’t suck was Justin Mexico’s stat line -  he had a standout performance with two goals and three assists, while Oscar Geschwind also netted two goals for the Yellowjackets. In Hockey East women’s action, No. 12 Boston College defeated New Hampshire 4-0, with four different players scoring, including Julia Pellerin, who netted her 11th goal of the season. The win gave Boston College a one-point lead in the Hockey East standings. It’ll be Sweden vs. Finland in the other semi. And we’re thinking tonight about Minnesota-Duluth’s Will Francis. #WillPower I’m Jason Bryant @jasonmbryant on the socials and that’s your College Hockey Scoreboard for December 31, 2024.The Sota Pod is dedicated to covering anything & EVERYTHING when it comes to hockey or craft beer in the great state of Minnesota. The Sota Pod (Apple Podcasts): https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-sota-pod/id1495602444YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@thesotapod

In exhibition play, No. 8 Colorado College slapped UNLV’s club team 8-0, No. 19 Arizona State edged the USNTDP 1-0, Concordia (Que.) stung No. 20 Clarkson 5-1, and Omaha shut out Manitoba 5-0. I’m Jason Bryant @jasonmbryant on the socials and that’s your College Hockey Scoreboard and inserted bad puns for December 29, 2024.The Sota Pod is dedicated to covering anything & EVERYTHING when it comes to hockey or craft beer in the great state of Minnesota. The Sota Pod (Apple Podcasts): https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-sota-pod/id1495602444YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@thesotapod

UNLV's club squad ties No. 5 Denver in exhibition, wins shootout - CHS 12-28-24

It’s the #CollegeHockey Scoreboard Show for December 28, 2024. Welcome back from the holiday layoff. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, we’re back to the show here in the Speakeasy. As always, there’s no analysis, no breakdowns. It’s JUST. THE. SCORES. The college hockey world fired right back up on Saturday with a couple of tournaments, some non-conference games and a few exhibitions. Normally, we’d leave the exhibitions with no real details because they don’t count. Oh that’s NOT going to happen tonight. Why? It was a wild and I mean WILD 6-6 tie with No. 5 Denver and the club team from UNLV with the visiting Rebels taking a shootout 1-0 at Magness Arena in front of a pretty full crowd that included my high school classmate and Jeopardy alum Ryan Hall. Probably the only other guy in the world I could walk past and yell “Anteaters” and he’d reply “UC Irvine.” Anyway … Preston Brodziak scored twice and while it was an exhibition and a tie, no one tell UNLV that shootout win didn't matter.  What made this fun to watch was you could see the comeback happening - Denver rallied from 5-1 in the third to tie it and force OT. UNLV goaltender Jeremy Forman, a grad student who played IN FOUR career games in four seasons at New Hampshire, gave up 6 goals but also made 58 saves. Is this the death of Lord Farquad? It’s surely going to revive fans on the internet adding points to shootout wins. It’s an exhibition, it doesn’t count, but man, it was fun to watch. At the Kwik Trip Holiday Faceoff in Milwaukee, Jake Percival scored his eighth goal of the season to lead UConn to a 4-1 win over Alaska, with UConn jumping out to an early 3-0 lead. In the other game in Milwaukee, Wisconsin dominated Ferris State 8-0, with four different players scoring two goals each, setting up the Sunday final against UConn. At the Ledyard Bank Classic in New Hampshire, No. 17 Dartmouth rallied three times to edge Alaska-Anchorage 5-4, with five different scorers for the Big Green, including Hayden Stavroff’s seventh of the season, while Ryan Johnson notched his ninth goal in the loss for the Seawolves. No. 7 Providence beat Northeastern 3-1, with Tanner Adams scoring his ninth of the year, setting up a Sunday final against Dartmouth. In Atlantic Hockey action, Reid Pabich and Max Dorrington each scored their seventh goals of the season as Sacred Heart cruised past American International 4-1 to improve to 10-7-3. In non-conference play, Liam Devlin’s two goals and two assists powered New Hampshire to a 7-4 win at RPI, while Princeton edged Army West Point 1-0 behind Jake Manfre’s first-period power-play goal and a 24-save shutout by Arthur Smith. In other exhibition action, Aydar Suniev recorded a hat trick as UMass (Flagship!) scored twice in the third period to secure a 4-3 win over Simon Fraser … of the aforementioned ACHA. Finally, No. 19 Arizona State edged the USNTDP 4-3 in Tempe with third-period goals from Bennett Schimek and Benji Eckerle. I’m Jason Bryant @jasonmbryant on the socials and that’s your College Hockey Scoreboard for December 28, 2024.The Sota Pod is dedicated to covering anything & EVERYTHING when it comes to hockey or craft beer in the great state of Minnesota. The Sota Pod (Apple Podcasts): https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-sota-pod/id1495602444YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@thesotapod

No. 3 Michigan State rallies past No. 1 Minnesota; Denver splits with CC; Michigan Tech scores nine - CHS 12-14-24

It’s the #CollegeHockey Scoreboard Show for December 14, 2024. I did NOT go to In-and-Out Burger today, but the night is anything but young. There’s still time. But there’s no double doubles here, no analysis, no breakdowns. It’s JUST. THE. SCORES. We begin with the men. I’m also standing outside, so let’s get this done as quickly as possible. No. 3 Michigan State scored four third-period goals to rally past No. 1 Minnesota 5-3 in the Big Ten, with Isaac Howard netting two for the Spartans. In the NCHC, No. 4 Denver split the weekend home-and-home series with No. 10 Colorado College after a 2-1 win, thanks to Cale Ashcroft’s game-winner. No. 6 Michigan finally ended its scoreless streak as Michael Hage's overtime game-winner salvaged a split with visiting Wisconsin. Not going to argue over what constitutes a split here. I know what you're saying, Wisconsin still got four of the six points on the weekend. All Hail Pairwise. Jake Schmaltz lifted No. 16 North Dakota to a 4-3 overtime win and a home sweep of No. 9 St. Cloud State in the NCHC. That goal song was stuck in my head the rest of the day. Josh Groll’s overtime goal secured No. 12 Minnesota State’s 3-2 victory over Lake Superior State in the CCHA, marking six straight wins for the Mavericks, who are unbeaten in their last 11. Oh, you didn't know ... this is a Gunnarwolfe Fontaine stan account. Fontaine scores his seventh of the year as No. 15 Ohio State beat Notre Dame 3-1Robert Morris defeated Canisius 5-2 in Atlantic Hockey action, while Michigan Tech erupted for six third-period goals to dominate Bemidji State 9-5 in the CCHA, with Elias Jansson and Logan Morrell each scoring twice. Bowling Green edged Northern Michigan 4-3 in another CCHA contest. In Hockey East, Merrimack beat Northeastern 4-1. Omaha slipped past Lindenwood 2-1 in non-conference play, while RPI and Mercyhurst tied 3-3 before RPI won in the shootout. LIU crushed Stonehill 6-1 for its seventh win in nine games, while Stonehill dropped its fifth straight. Vermont defeated Union 3-2, and New Hampshire topped the USNTDP 6-2 in an exhibition. Three games on the women’s side - Maine edged Merrimack 3-2 in Hockey East women’s action, while Robert Morris took down LIU 3-1 in a non-conference matchup. Minnesota State outlasted Bemidji State 5-3 in  the WCHA. I’m Jason Bryant @jasonmbryant on the socials and that’s your College Hockey Scoreboard for December 14, 2024.Drive thru is open here in Hanford, California. The Sota Pod is dedicated to covering anything & EVERYTHING when it comes to hockey or craft beer in the great state of Minnesota. The Sota Pod (Apple Podcasts): https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-sota-pod/id1495602444YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@thesotapod

Gophers and Spartans tie in the Big Ten, CC rallies past Denver - CHS 12-13-24

It’s the #CollegeHockey Scoreboard Show for December 13, 2024. If you’ve come here for inStat, analysis, breakdowns in the d-zone or anything other than the scores. You’ll leave disappointed. It’s JUST. THE. SCORES. In the Big Ten, No. 1 Minnesota and No. 3 Michigan State ended regulation tied at three after Brodie Ziemer opened and closed the scoring. Michigan State claimed the shootout and the extra Big Ten point. Tenth-ranked Colorado College overcame a 3-0 deficit to defeat No. 4 Denver 5-4 in the first game of the Gold Pan series, with Drew Montgomery netting his fifth goal of the season and Samu Salminen scoring twice for Denver. Wisconsin delivered a dominant 4-0 shutout at Yost over No. 8 Michigan, with Quinn Finley scoring his 12th of the season and Michigan going three games without a goal after a 16-goal series against Notre Dame. No. 16 North Dakota beat No. 9 St. Cloud State 2-0 at The Ralph with goals from Carter Wilkie and Jake Livanavage. Berry and Larson exchanged words towards the end of the game. I believe they were “Merry” and “Christmas.” No. 12 Minnesota State extended its unbeaten streak to 10 games with a 2-1 win over Lake Superior State, courtesy of two goals by Luc Wilson. The Mavericks are 8-0-2 in their last 10. Brent Johnson’s overtime winner lifted No. 15 Ohio State past Notre Dame 2-1 in Columbus. New Hampshire and No. 17 Dartmouth finished tied at three with six different scorers before UNH claimed the shootout for bragging rights … and maybe even not that. I award you no points and may god have mercy on your soul. Bemidji State and Michigan Tech skated to a 2-2 tie, with Bemidji winning the shootout. Bowling Green edged Northern Michigan 2-1, while Augustana earned a 3-2 overtime victory over Alaska-Anchorage. If there were actual points on the line, Augie would have taken four of them this weekend. They now come back to the lower 48 after spending most of December in Alaska. Lindenwood upset Omaha 3-2, LIU bested Stonehill 3-1, and Vermont cruised to a 6-2 win over Union. In exhibition action, No. 13 Boston University outlasted the USNTDP 7-5. Just two games on the women’s side: Robert Morris and LIU skated to a 1-1 tie, but neither school reported who won the shootout.Had to go to discord to get the answer, so thanks to  “Twee P the sieve” confirming Robert Morris took the shootout, once again proving the discord server to be a more reliable source than, say a script. Maddie Mashuga’s hat trick powered Minnesota State to a 5-0 win over Bemidji State, improving the Mavericks to 7-9-1 and solidifying sixth place in the WCHA standings while handing Bemidji its third straight loss. I’m Jason Bryant @jasonmbryant on the socials and that’s your College Hockey Scoreboard for December 13, 2024.The Sota Pod is dedicated to covering anything & EVERYTHING when it comes to hockey or craft beer in the great state of Minnesota. The Sota Pod (Apple Podcasts): https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-sota-pod/id1495602444YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@thesotapod

Penn State tops Army West Point in D.C., Augustana takes shootout in 2-2 tie with Alaska-Anchorage - CHS 12-12-24

It’s the #CollegeHockey Scoreboard Show for December 12, 2024. There’s two men’s games on the schedule tonight. One in Washington, D.C. and the other - in Anchorage. There’s  no analysis, no breakdowns, it’s JUST. THE. SCORES. At the Capital Hockey Classic in D.C., Reece Laubach scored twice as Penn State defeated Army West Point 4-2. Laubach now has nine goals on the year. It's the fifth straight loss for the Black Knights. Penn State improved to 7-9 overall. Out west, way west, like, North and West. Augustana and Alaska-Anchorage skated to a 2-2 tie and Augustana took the shootout for … no extra points. Ryan Johnson scored his ninth of the year for the Seawolves. There’s 16 games on the docket for tomorrow, 14 of them on the men’s side. I’m Jason Bryant @jasonmbryant on the socials and that’s your College Hockey Scoreboard for December 12, 2024.The Sota Pod is dedicated to covering anything & EVERYTHING when it comes to hockey or craft beer in the great state of Minnesota. The Sota Pod (Apple Podcasts): https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-sota-pod/id1495602444YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@thesotapod
