The biggest in terms of rankings was on the women’s side in a WCHA clash in Minneapolis with the top-ranked Wisconsin Badgers and the third-ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers. We’ll start there.Wisconsin blanked #3 Minnesota 5-0 with five different players scoring, four in the third period, while the Badgers outshot the Gophers 32-18. #2 Ohio State took down #11 St. Cloud State 5-1 with Joy Dunne and Jordyn Petrie each netting two goals, and the Buckeyes outshooting the Huskies 47-10. #5 Minnesota-Duluth shut out St. Thomas 3-0 as three different Bulldogs found the back of the net. #6 Cornell and Mercyhurst battled to a scoreless draw before Cornell won in the shootout, with 75 combined shots on goal. Vermont pulled off a stunner, beating #7 St. Lawrence 1-0. Lara Beecher scoring the game-winner for the Catamounts in the third. #8 UConn edged Providence 3-2 with Martha Mobarak securing the game-winner. #9 Colgate rolled over Post 8-1, with Kristyna Kaltounkova scoring twice to secure the sweep. #10 Quinnipiac shut out Syracuse 4-0, and #12 Penn State blanked Dartmouth 2-0. #13 Northeastern and Holy Cross ended in a 4-4 tie with Northeastern winning in a shootout. #14 Princeton dominated Robert Morris 7-1. Boston University squeaked by Maine 2-1, while LIU rallied from a two-goal deficit to beat Assumption 3-2. Sacred Heart outlasted Stonehill 4-3, and St. Anselm topped St. Michael’s 5-0. Brown crushed Franklin Pierce 8-1, Bemidji State earned its first win of the season by defeating winless Lindenwood 6-3, and RIT shut out RPI 2-0. New Hampshire edged Union 2-1.In men’s action, #1 Denver defeated #19 Northeastern 5-2 with five different players scoring, while #2 Boston College shut out AIC 5-0, with Will Vote scoring his third goal of the year. #3 Boston University beat UConn 4-2 with Cole Eiserman scoring twice. #5 North Dakota rallied with three third-period goals to beat #20 Minnesota State 3-2 - Carter Wilkie getting the game-winner there about halfway through the third.#6 Minnesota won a 7-5 shootout against Minnesota-Duluth with seven different Gophers scoring. #9 Maine topped #7 Quinnipiac 2-1 with first-period goals from Nolan Renwick and Charlie Russell. #10 Michigan shut out #13 St. Cloud State 3-0, breaking a scoreless tie with a short-handed goal from Garrett Shifsky in the third. Augustana stunned #12 Omaha 2-1 with a late game-winner from Hunter Bischoff, and #14 Providence cruised past Arizona State 4-1 behind a hat trick from Tanner Adams. Sacred Heart earned a historic 4-3 win over #15 UMass, with four different players scoring.
