Fourth-ranked Michigan State edged Lake Superior State 2-1 in overtime, with Daniel Russell scoring the game-winner just 39 seconds into OT. Visiting Minnesota State pulled off an impressive 5-2 victory over #7 Michigan at Yost, with five different players scoring, including Rhett Pitlick, who netted his first goal in a Minnesota State sweater. #20 Arizona State dominated Air Force 8-1, fueled by a hat trick from Bennett Shimek and an incredible three shorthanded goals. Bowling Green started the Dennis Williams era with a 2-1 win over Mercyhurst, with Jaden Grant and Brody Waters finding the back of the net.
