Tonight, Steph, Dave & Adam slurp down a tall, frosty Gunpowder Milkshake as we find out what happens when you pour a brimming cup of candy-colored John Wick, stir in a little Kill Bill, add a dollop of Luc Besson and a sprinkle of Zack Snyder, and TOP IT with some ass-kicking feminism! Hope you brought a couple of straws!Sam, a young assassin played by (Karen Gillan) is hired by Nathan (Paul Giamatti) the head of “The Firm” to kill a man who took money from them. After she shoots him, Sam discovers he’d stolen the cash to pay his daughter Emily’s ransom. Sam decides to rescue Emily, herself and takes her to The Library – a safe house run by Carla Gugino, Michelle Yeoh and Angela Bassett - a trio of assassins who worked with Sam’s estranged, assassin mother played by Lena Headey. To protect himself, Nathan gives Sam’s identity and location away to a Mafia Boss whose son was killed by Sam during an earlier assignment. With the mafia boss and his goons after them, Sam and her aunties use their GUNPOWDER MILKSHAKE to bring all the bad boys to the yard!This month, we’re supporting BLACK TABLE ARTS whose mission is to gather black communities through the arts toward better black futures.
