Closing The Gap of Who You Are Vs Who People Think You Are
from K-Talk · host K Chynn
What defines you? It's clear on social media today that many people who, let's be honest, are nobody's feel like somebody's because they flex online. Meaning they post pictures of houses they can't afford, drive cars they can't pay for, fake documents, borrow money from everyone around them to flex. The true definition of flexing is making your own money, cultivating your lifestyle on your dime. Eventually, the people you borrow from will be tired of you, the car repossessed, and chances are you may be homeless or sued. Why? Everyone on this earth wants to feel and be unique and social media gives you a platform to do just that. But, unfortunately, it gives you this false sense of "Look at me" many people with no talent other than being attractive. But attractive is subjective and not forever, and eventually, you cant capitalize on your looks. It becomes more challenging for us to be authentic because we begin to live in a parallel universe, from the IG flex to the debt collector calls, which only brings us further from ourselves and closer to hell. Y'all know I love luxury things, but I purchase them because I like them, not because other people have them. I believe in being my authentic self, so I don't live up to other people's definition of me. I refuse to go into debt to borrow anything from anyone to pretend all is good. Look at all the YouTubers going flat broke from all that flexing. Don't be them!
