CM-056 - WCF 9.5: Perfectly and Immutably Free

Westminster Confession of Faith 9.5 “The will of man is made perfectly and immutably free to good alone in the state of glory only.” In this episode of Confessional Moments, we conclude our study of Westminster Confession of Faith chapter 9 by examining the final state of the human will in glory. While believers in this life experience both renewal and conflict — loving Christ yet still battling remaining corruption — the Confession points us to the day when redemption will be complete. In the state of glory, the will of the redeemed will be made perfectly and immutably free to good alone. Drawing from Scripture and the insights of the Puritan tradition, this episode explains how glorification completes the work of sanctification, confirms believers forever in holiness, and reveals the true nature of spiritual freedom.
