Trapped In Coercive Control and Being Isolated From Help

from Life Reassembled Podcast l Healing • Identity • Whole-Life Transformation · host Julie Renee - Life Coach l Trauma Surviver l Single Mom

Abuse is usually quiet and invisible — normally strategic and control disguised as care. Coercive control is one of the most dangerous forms of abuse because it doesn’t just restrict a person’s freedom — it slowly convinces them they don’t deserve any. In this episode of Life Re-assembled, we uncover how abusers use control, manipulation, surveillance, and dependency to shrink someone’s world to nothing. We talk about how isolation often starts as “concern”, “protection” or "what they can afford" but eventually it evolves into dominance, fear, and extreme loneliness. We’ll learn how coercive control works, why survivors often don’t recognize it until much later, and how trauma bonding keeps people tangled in relationships that feel really impossible to leave.
