Is it possible to treat sleep problems without medication? The answer is YES! When you're desperate for sleep, it can be tempting to reach for a sleeping pill or an over-the-counter sleep aid. But sleep medication won't cure the problem or address the underlying symptoms—in fact, it can often make sleep problems worse in the long term. In this episode, we're joined by clinical psychologist, Dr. Shelby Harris, to help and guide us through CBT-I. We'll tackle how this form of therapy can help everyone from children to adults.

About Dr. Shelby Harris

Dr. Shelby Harris is a clinical psychologist and sleep specialist in private practice in NYC. She is board certified in Behavioral Sleep Medicine, and treats a wide variety of sleep, anxiety and depression issues using evidence-based, non-medication approaches. Her self-help book, The Women's Guide to Overcoming Insomnia, was published by WW Norton Books in 2019. Dr. Harris is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Einstein College of Medicine in NYC.
