His research focuses on attacks on healthcare and the ethics of violence in Israel-Palestine. He authored Israel's Occupation (2008) and co-authored Human Shields: A History of People in the Line of Fire (2020). A Fellow of the British Academy of Social Sciences, he writes regularly for the popular press.
