Colossian Recap 1:1 - 2:17

from Grace Community · host Isaac Moran

As we recap what we have already covered, discuss what you have learned, enjoyed, been challenged by, or been encouraged by in the book of Colossians. Are there any parts, verses, or concepts that stand out to you?The doctrine of perseverance of the saints (once saved, always saved) is shown here in Colossians (see 1:3-5, 12-14, 21-22, 2:13-14). Yet, Paul also writes, 'if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard.' How can these two things be reconciled? (Consider 1 John 2:19, 23-25; Titus 1:16; 1 Cor 15:57-58.)Verses 16-17 talk about legalism and the judgment it brings. How would you define the difference between legalism and obedience? On the flip side, how can we be free in Christ without straying into liberalism or antinomianism (the belief that Christians aren’t bound by any moral laws or commandments)? How can you ensure that you don’t slide into legalism or liberalism? Why must verse 1:28—'[Jesus] we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ'—be the central message and goal of the church in regards to both the believer and the non-believer?Do you find it easy or hard to speak openly about Jesus to non-believers? Why or why not? Do you have a method or a plan for evangelizing or a way of simply sharing the gospel in an orderly way? (Consider the Romans Road to Salvation: 3:9-12 & 23 > 6:23 > 5:8 > 10:9-10 & 13 > 5:1, 8:1 & 38-39)Send us Fan Mail

Prayer Time Heir Waves Prayer Time A podcast especially for our Prayer Time community NEWMORROW SESSIONS - A PodCast Series on the Future of Hospitality Mario C. Bauer, Florian Schneider, Axel Weber & Dr. Tillman Bardt The Newmorrow PodCast is more than a podcast — it's a platform for open dialog on the future of our business, a platform for those building what doesn’t exist yet. Here, we share and embrace our passion for the hospitality industry, but we won’t romanticize the journey. We ask the tough questions, confront uncomfortable truths, and prepare for a future that resists easy answers. We believe that the tougher and wilder times become, the more openly, honestly and humanely people need to talk to each other and act together. We believe, openness, togetherness, and truthfulness should also be cornerstones of a professional community to develop our utopian idea of „open source“. This is a space where visionaries don’t just imagine the future — they wrestle with the paradoxes that shape it: success vs. happiness, data vs. instinct, stability vs. reinvention. Join leaders, entrepreneurs, and thinkers as they share not what made them — but what’s actively shaping them, now and next. So tune in
