Columbine, Darwin, and Nietzsche
from Tea With George · host George Caylor, Diane Gruber, Steve Putney
Twenty six years ago before the Columbine massacre, two boys were in their basement listening to Marilyn Manson songs and sawing barrels off shotguns while their parents were upstairs playing cards and not taking an interest in their boy’s lives. One of the boys Eric Harris, was the leader of the shootings, and Dylan Klebold was merely a follower. They weren’t victims of bullying. They were ardent followers of Darwin, and Nitsche, the one who coined the words “God is dead.” And Darwin who said that we were all just accidents of time and chance. That is, we don’t really matter. But Harris believed that he evolved into an “Ubermench.” That means he evolved to be a higher person than the people he was willing to kill. We have to be careful what our kids are learning because it cannot only kill their souls, it can kill a lot of other people as well. Sponsored by the Caylor Group Wealth Management in Lynchburg VA.
