Come to Me🎙✝️

from "The Exchange" -Episode 01

🎙️ Come to Me. Trading Weariness for the Rest Jesus Gives 🕊 Welcome to Strength Exchanged — the podcast where we trade the heavy for the holy. I’m your host, Juanita, and I’m so glad you’re here. Today, I want to share a message that I believe so many of us need to hear. A simple invitation from Jesus… “Come to Me." Not “try harder.” Not “fix yourself first.” Not “carry the weight a little longer.” Just… Come. Because sometimes the deepest weariness we experience is not just physical exhaustion. Sometimes it is soul weariness. The kind of tiredness that comes from carrying things we were never created to carry. The pressure to keep everything together. The fear of the unknown. The expectations we place on ourselves. The worries we replay in our minds. The desire to control outcomes we were never meant to control. And before we realise it, we become exhausted from trying to be strong in our own strength. But Jesus gives us a different invitation. In Matthew 11:28–30, Jesus says: “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” I love that Jesus begins with “Come.” He does not say: “Come when you have everything figured out.” “Come when you have fixed all your struggles.” “Come when you are strong enough.” He says: Come when you are weary. Come when you are burdened. Come as you are. Because Jesus already knows the weight you are carrying. He sees the things that no one else sees. The silent prayers. The hidden battles. The moments where you feel overwhelmed but still keep going. And His invitation is not to add another burden to your life. His invitation is to release the burdens you were never meant to carry. For many years, I thought strength meant being able to handle everything myself. I thought if I could just try harder… be more disciplined… be more organised… control things better… then maybe I would finally find peace. But what God has been teaching me is that true strength is not found in carrying more. True strength is found in surrender. It is found when we stop relying only on ourselves and start leaning fully on Him. Because we were never created to be our own source of strength. We were created to depend on the One who gives strength.Maybe today you feel weary. Maybe you have been carrying something in your heart that has become heavy. Jesus is gently reminding you today: 'Come to Me.” Matthew 11 continues: “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Notice Jesus does not only promise rest for our bodies. He promises rest for our souls. A deep, lasting rest that the world cannot give. A rest that does not depend on circumstances being perfect. A rest that comes from knowing: God is faithful. God is present. God is good. And God is holding every detail of our lives. As I reflect on my own journey, I can see how often I looked for relief in things that could never truly satisfy. I tried to fill empty places with my own solutions. I tried to carry things in my own strength. But Jesus showed me that what my soul truly needed was not another thing to hold onto… It was Him. The One who created my soul is the only One who can truly satisfy it. So today, I want to encourage you: What burden are you carrying that Jesus is asking you to place in His hands? What have you been trying to control that He is inviting you to surrender? What part of your life needs to hear His gentle words: 'Come to Me.” You don’t have to carry it alone. You don’t have to strive to earn His love. You don’t have to prove your worth. You can simply come.
