"Come to Me... and I will give you rest" Day 8 - Daily Bible Reading - Matthew 11

Todays reading is from Matthew chapter 11. Jesus interacts with disciples of John the Baptist who are wanting confirmation that Jesus is The Christ. He then teaches the crowd around him that John is the prophesied Elijah and the greatest person born of woman in history. In contrast to that though, he states that the one that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than John. This continues the contrast Jesus is teaching us about earthly vs heavenly. Jesus transitions into a stinging rebuke of several cities who have not responded to his miracles and teachings. Finally Jesus offers up an invitation to everyone. In order to know the Father, you have to know the Son. And to know the Son, you've got to come to him.
