A lie ends in judgment. Prison doors open in the night. Others fight against the message. Still others want to hear more. Today in Acts 14, Paul and Barnabas continue their missionary journey.They preach in Iconium, flee from danger, heal a man in Lystra, get mistaken for gods, and then Paul is stoned and left for dead.But instead of quitting, they continue the work and return to encourage the churches.Acts 14 reminds us that faithfulness is not always safe, easy, or popular. But the gospel keeps moving.

In this episode, Adam and Kevin slow down in the book of Acts and spend time in Acts 3 and Acts 4.Peter and John go up to the temple and meet a man who had been lame from birth. He asks for money, but in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, he is healed.The miracle creates a public moment that no one can deny. But it also brings pressure. The religious leaders arrest Peter and John and command them to stop speaking in the name of Jesus.Their answer is bold: they cannot stop speaking about what they have seen and heard.This episode looks at the healing of the lame man, Peter’s sermon, the resurrection of Jesus, the opposition from the religious leaders, and the early church’s powerful response of prayer, unity, and boldness.Acts 3-4 reminds us that the name of Jesus could not be silenced then, and it should not be silenced now.

Today we read Acts 13, where the Holy Spirit sends Barnabas and Saul out from Antioch and the mission of the gospel begins to expand in a major way.In this chapter, Paul preaches in Pisidian Antioch and shows how the story of Israel points to Jesus. He proclaims forgiveness through Christ, warns against rejecting the message, and then turns toward the Gentiles when opposition rises.Acts 13 reminds us that the gospel is not bound by one city, one people, or one moment. God is moving, His Word is spreading, and the light of Christ is going to the nations.

In Acts 12, the church faces serious persecution. James is killed, Peter is thrown into prison, and Herod looks like he is in control.But the church prays, God sends an angel, and Peter is delivered in a way nobody expected. Even the praying church struggles to believe their prayer has been answered.Then Herod receives the judgment of God after accepting praise that belongs only to the Lord.Acts 12 reminds us that earthly power is temporary, but the word of God keeps growing.

In Acts 11, Peter explains how God opened the door of the gospel to the Gentiles.The church begins to see that this was not Peter’s idea. It was God’s work.Then we see the growth of the church in Antioch, where the disciples are first called Christians.Acts 11 reminds us that the gospel is not limited by background, culture, or expectation. In Acts 10, God brings Peter and Cornelius together in a powerful way.Peter learns that the good news of Jesus is not just for one nation or one people. Cornelius and his household hear the gospel, believe, and receive the Holy Spirit.This chapter is a major turning point in Acts. In Acts 9, Saul is on his way to arrest followers of Jesus. Then Jesus meets him on the road to Damascus, and everything changes.Saul is humbled, Ananias obeys a hard command, and the man who once fought the church begins to preach that Jesus is the Son of God.This chapter also follows Peter as he heals Aeneas and raises Tabitha, showing the continued power of Jesus through His apostles.Join us for Day 33 of the 52 Day Challenge through Luke and Acts.

In Acts 7, Stephen gives one of the most powerful speeches in the book of Acts.He walks through the history of Israel and shows how God was working through Abraham, Joseph, Moses, the wilderness, the tabernacle, and the temple. But he also shows a painful pattern: God sends messengers, and people often resist them.Stephen then points directly to Jesus as the Righteous One they rejected.The chapter ends with Stephen seeing Jesus at the right hand of God, praying for his enemies, and becoming the first recorded Christian martyr.This is Day 31 of our 52 Day Challenge through Luke and Acts.

Luke ends with the risen Jesus giving His followers a mission. In Acts 6, the growing church faces internal tension when some widows are being overlooked. The apostles respond with wisdom, appointing faithful men to serve so the ministry of the word and prayer can continue.We are also introduced to Stephen, a man full of grace and power, whose bold faith begins to draw opposition.Acts 6 reminds us that even healthy growth can bring growing pains, but God’s work continues when His people serve with wisdom, humility, and courage.

In Acts 5, the early church faces trouble from the inside and pressure from the outside.Ananias and Sapphira remind us that God cares about truth, not appearances. The apostles remind us that real faith keeps going, even when obedience costs something.After being beaten and warned to stop speaking in the name of Jesus, they leave rejoicing. In Acts chapter 4, Peter and John are brought before the religious leaders after the healing of the lame man.They are told not to speak or teach in the name of Jesus anymore, but their answer is clear: they cannot help but speak about what they have seen and heard.After being released, the believers gather and pray, not for comfort or safety, but for boldness.Acts 4 shows us a church that understood the cost of following Jesus, but also trusted the power of God to keep speaking through them.Today is Day 28 of the 52 Day Challenge through Luke and Acts.

In Acts chapter 3, Peter and John encounter a man who had been lame from birth at the Beautiful Gate of the temple.The man asks for money, but Peter offers something far greater: healing in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.As the crowd gathers in amazement, Peter does not take credit for the miracle. He points everyone back to Jesus, the Author of life, and calls them to repent and turn back to God.Today is Day 27 of the 52 Day Challenge through Luke and Acts.

In Acts chapter 2, the promise Jesus gave in Acts 1 begins to unfold.The Holy Spirit comes on the day of Pentecost, Peter stands up and preaches Jesus as the risen Lord and Christ, and thousands respond to the gospel. This chapter also gives us one of the clearest early pictures of the church: devoted to teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, prayer, generosity, and worship.This is not just the beginning of a movement. It is the continuation of what Jesus began to do and teach.Today is Day 26 of the 52 Day Challenge through Luke and Acts.

Today we begin the book of Acts with chapter 1.Luke continues the story after the resurrection of Jesus. The apostles receive their mission, Jesus promises the coming of the Holy Spirit, and then He ascends into heaven.
