It’s Compassion in the Court: Life-Changing Stories from America's Nicest Judge, written by the one and only Frank Caprio. It is with a truly heavy heart 💔 that I begin this review. As some of you may have heard, Judge Caprio passed away just three days ago, on August 20th 2025, after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and the millions of people around the world whose lives he touched. Many of us first met him not through a book, but through our screens. 📺 He was the unforgettable judge from "Caught in Providence," a man who earned the title of "the Nicest Judge in the World." His courtroom wasn't a place of cold, hard law, but a place of incredible humanity. This book, which was just published earlier this year, feels like his final, heartfelt message to us all. In its pages, he shares the wisdom he gained from his immigrant parents and the stories of the everyday people who stood before his bench. He writes about dignity, about respect, and about his belief that a person’s worth isn't defined by their mistakes, but by their capacity to learn from them. It’s a philosophy that radiates from every single chapter. ✨Reading his words, it feels like he’s right there, offering one last piece of advice, one final story. Which leaves me wrestling with one big question...We saw his kindness on YouTube, and we can feel his spirit in this book. But can this type of deep, genuine compassion truly exist within the rigid, often unforgiving systems of justice, or was Judge Frank Caprio a beautiful, shining exception to a much colder rule? 🤔A special thank you to the late Judge Caprio and the publisher, BenBella Books, for making this important book. 🙏If you enjoyed this, please subscribe to our podcast channel Revise and Resubmit on Spotify. 🎶 You can also find us on Amazon Prime Music and Apple Podcast!
