Connecting with others through Vulnerability + Ashley Furr

from The Streetwise Podcast · host Matthew McReynolds

So many of us are stuck in the constant state of comparing ourselves to others. As much as we strive... as much as we push, we still find ourselves falling behind. The stress of trying to always keep up and be seen as successful is exhausting. If we don't take the time to work on our own mental health, eventually we will break. It is absolutely imperative that we have people around us that we can lean on and build a community with. It takes a village to raise a child and it takes a village to build anything of value. More importantly, it takes a village to become the person that we are called to be. I loved having this conversation with Ashley Furr! Like me, she is involved in many different organizations and we were able to relate in the feeling of being overwhelmed and often over stretched. In this episode she was able to share with me some tactics and methods that she uses to cope with the madness. But on a higher level, I learned the value of expressing vulnerability and coming to terms with the fact that we don't have to always have out s**t together. It's okay to admit that we need help and we need a break. It's through sharing our pain and our struggles that we are best able to connect with other people. Enjoy!
