Co-creator of The Death Deck Lisa Pahl is with us to share her thoughts on today’s Connection Moment.  Lisa knows exactly what it’s like to be on the front lines of hospice as she works as a hospice and emergency room social worker.

As end of life professionals practice empathy in the care of their patients, they can accumulate pain through watching others’ suffering.  In this season filled with change, interdisciplinary team members are balancing new responsibilities in an environment that feels uncertain. 

Lisa reminds us that we can weather the change, and trust our instincts to provide smart, compassionate care.  We are still advocates for our patients and families, despite the different rules and practices we have to follow.  Be creative and put your heart - and hugs - into your words.
