La cumbre climática COP30, celebrada en Belém, Brasil, concluyó con un acuerdo que aumenta significativamente el financiamiento para la adaptación climática, pero evita mencionar explícitamente los combustibles fósiles o trazar una hoja de ruta para su eliminación. Mientras países como China e India celebran el pacto, numerosos actores —desde organizaciones ambientales hasta pequeñas naciones insulares— lamentan la falta de ambición frente al continuo aumento de las emisiones globales.
