Coping with anger after abuse Episode #321
from Hope when there was none Hosted by Melinda Kunst
Do you find yourself having a hard time dealing with anger due to past trauma? Are you lashing out at innocent loved ones? Do you feel angry that you've lost chunks of your life? You're not alone and this is normal! There are things you can do to help. Recognize when you are getting upset. Seek out counseling or therapy. Join a support group or maybe form new friendships. Volunteer, maybe find a new job or a part-time job, get Outdoors, exercise, journal what triggered you, find a rage room. And other things may include just going somewhere safe where you can scream. Or finding a lake or river where you can throw rocks. And of course most importantly learning new positive coping skills for the anger.
