En Côte d’Ivoire, le tribunal criminel d'Abidjan-Plateau a condamné, hier, à vie, l'ex-président de l'Assemblée nationale ivoirienne, Guillaume Soro pour complot contre l'autorité de l'Etat, pour des faits commis fin 2019. La condamnation a été prononcée en l’absence de l’accusée qui vit en exil depuis son retour manqué en Côte d’Ivoire en Décembre 2019. Le tribunal a en outre retenu, contre 12 proches de Guillaume Soro, la peine de 20 ans de prison ferme et prononcé également la dissolution du mouvement citoyen Générations et Peuples Solidaires, en abrégé, GPS ; un mouvement fondé et présidé par Guillaume Soro et la confiscation au profit de l'Etat de ses biens. Les avocats de l’ex-Président de l’Assemblée Nationale ont qualifié le verdict du Tribunal d’« exclusif ». Aussi ont-ils affirmé qu’ils feront appel de la décision visant leur client et ses proches. ENGLISH: In Côte d'Ivoire, the Abidjan-Plateau criminal court yesterday sentenced the former President of the Ivorian National Assembly, Guillaume Soro, to life for conspiracy against the authority of the State, for the acts committed at the end of 2019. The conviction was pronounced in the absence of the accused who has been living in exile since her failed return to Côte d'Ivoire in December 2019. The court also held, against 12 relatives of Soro, the sentence of 20 years in prison and also pronounced the dissolution of the citizen movement Générations et Peuples Solidaires, in short, a movement founded and chaired by Soro and the confiscation for the benefit of the State of his property.
