Episode Description
ENGLISH: In Côte d'Ivoire, the Abidjan-Plateau criminal court yesterday sentenced the former President of the Ivorian National Assembly, Guillaume Soro, to life for conspiracy against the authority of the State, for the acts committed at the end of 2019. The conviction was pronounced in the absence of the accused who has been living in exile since her failed return to Côte d'Ivoire in December 2019. The court also held, against 12 relatives of Soro, the sentence of 20 years in prison and also pronounced the dissolution of the citizen movement Générations et Peuples Solidaires, in short, a movement founded and chaired by Soro and the confiscation for the benefit of the State of his property. Lawyers for the former President called the court's verdict "exclusive". So they said they will appeal the decision against their client and their loved ones. Soro immediately reacted to his conviction.
