Could There Be Alien Artifacts Orbiting Us? With Dr. Avi Loeb
from John Michael Godier's Event Horizon · host John Michael Godier
In this interview with Dr. Avi Loeb the Frank B. Baird, Jr., Professor of Science and astrophysicist at Harvard University, he announces the Galileo Project. The Galileo Project is a transparent scientific project to advance a systematic experimental search for crossvalidated evidence of potential astro-archeological artifacts or active technical equipment made by putative existing or extinct extraterrestrial technological civilizations (ETCs). The goal of the Galileo Project is to bring the search for extraterrestrial technological signatures from accidental or anecdotal observations and legends to the mainstream of transparent, validated and systematic scientific research. The Galileo Project will search for evidence of extraterrestrial artifacts. The Galileo Project research group will aim to identify the nature of UAP and ‘Oumuamua-like interstellar objects using the standard scientific method based on a transparent analysis of open scientific data to be collected using optimized instruments. Dr. Avi Loeb of Harvard is the head of the Galileo Project and will lead a team of researchers that include co-founder Frank H. Laukien, Amir Siraj director of interstellar object studies, and researcher Beatriz Villarroel. The goal of the Galileo Project is to bring the search for extraterrestrial technological signatures of Extraterrestrial Technological Civilizations (ETCs) from accidental or anecdotal observations and legends to the mainstream of transparent, validated and systematic scientific research. This ground-based project is complementary to traditional SETI, in that it searches for physical objects, and not electromagnetic signals, associated with extraterrestrial technological equipment.Irrespective of the possibility that the Galileo Project may discover additional, or even extraordinary evidence for ETCs, at a minimum the Galileo Project will gather rich data sets that may foster the discovery of — or better scientific explanations for — novel interstellar objects with anomalous properties, and for potential new natural atmospheric phenomena, or in some instances terrestrial technology explanations for many of the presently inexplicable UAP.The scientific advisory board includes Paul Davies, Brian Keating, and Pieter van Dokkum.00:00:00 Intro00:00:31 Bio00:01:41 What is the Galileo Project?0:05:36 Pentagon UAP Report00:12:50 Capturing a Megapixel Image of UAP00:16:50 Collecting Data00:19:43 JMG Breaks the Fourth Wall00:25:19 Time is not a problem for Alien Technology00:27:55 A Solution to the Fermi Paradox00:29:55 Using AI to find Alien Technology00:34:40 Searching the Moon for signs of ETCsThe Galileo Projecthttps://projects.iq.harvard.edu/galileoWill the Galileo Project Solve the Fermi Paradox?https://youtu.be/WSAOTXYeUlwExtraterrestrial: The First Sign of Intelligent Life Beyond Earth https://amzn.to/2LiIxoo affiliate linkLoeb, A., 2018, "Six Strange Facts About`Oumuamua", Scientific American: https://arxiv.org/abs/1811.08832Bialy, S. & Loeb, A., 2018, "Could Solar Radiation Pressure Explain ‘Oumuamua’s Peculiar Acceleration?", ApJ, 868, 1: https://arxiv.org/abs/1810.11490 Want to support the channel?Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/EventHorizonShowFollow us at other places!Website: https://www.eventhorizonshow.com/Twitter: https://twitter.com/jmgeventhorizonInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jmgeventhorizon/Music featured on Event Horizonhttps://stellardrone.bandcamp.com/https://migueljohnson.bandcamp.com/https://leerosevere.bandcamp.com/https://aeriumambient.bandcamp.com/FOOTAGE:NASAESA/HubbleESO - M.KornmesserESO - L.CalcadaESO - Jose Francisco Salgado (josefrancisco.org)NAOJUniversity of WarwickGoddard Visualization StudioLangley Research CenterPixabay#galileoproject #aviloeb #extraterrestrialartifacts
