Country legend's widow 'let the wrong one in' and now missing millions of dollars | Music City Minute

from Music City Minute

When I hear about folks taking advantage of the elderly and vulnerable, it makes my blood boil, and this story is no different. Nancy Jones, the widow of George Jones, was scammed out of millions of dollars in cash and cryptocurrency. Not only that, the perpetrator wasn’t just some faceless stranger on the internet. The theft was committed by a man named Kirk West, who had been in a longterm relationship with Nancy since her husband passed. The country crooner's widow had become suspicious of West's activities, initially thinking that he had been sneaking around with someone else. She recruited her granddaughter to help investigate, and the women discovered a personal safe had been emptied. Officers from the Franklin, Tennessee, Police Department were able to catch up with the 58-year-old criminal at the Nashville International Airport and placed him under arrest. Thankfully, a good portion of the stolen funds have been recovered, but there’s still over $1 million in cryptocurrency that remains missing.   I'm Sheena, and that's your Music City Minute.
