Three country music up-and-comers who are riding high on the ACM Award hog | Music City Minute

Goodness gracious, this year is flying by! It is wild to think that the ACM Awards are right around the corner, and while we are still about a week away, several early wins were recently revealed. First up is Avery Anna, who was surprised on stage by family and bestie Sam Barber with the ACM New Female Artist of the Year award. Next, Tucker Wetmore was mid-concert in London when Thomas Rhett crashed his set and announced he was the New Male Artist of the Year. Wetmore’s emotional response was captured by fans, where he admits he was at a “loss for words.” Finally, Stephen Wilson Jr. is the latest recipient of a cowboy hat-shaped trophy when his official music video for Cuckoo (which codirected by the way) won Best Visual Media of the Year. For the full list of winners, be sure to check out the 61st annual Academy of Country Music Awards hosted by Shania Twain, which will stream live on Prime Video from Las Vegas, Sunday, May 17.   I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.

Jason Aldean admits he likes this one person more than bestie Luke Bryan | Music City Minute

In the entertainment business, it can be difficult to make true friends. Yet, from time to time, twin flames are drawn to each other, igniting a lifelong bond. With that in mind, two of the most notorious besties in country music are Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan. During a recent interview where they discussed their latest duet, "Songs About Us," as well as their upcoming coheadline tour, each revealed secrets about the other that only decadeslong friends would know. For example, apparently Jason Aldean’s “baseball bat” golf grip drives Luke nuts. However, thankfully, the son of a peanut farmer has been giving Jason grip tips. It would also seem the "Country Girl" singer cannot keep up with his friend who “Only shoots tequila” instead of drink margaritas, which Bryan claims, “Is a problem.” That said, in hilarious contrast, Aldean only had glowing comments about his friend saying Luke has no filter (which he is envious of) and his mom, Miss LeClaire, is the most awesome mom in the world. In fact, Jason admits he likes Luke’s mom more than him, to which Bryan shot back, “My mother cusses at Jason from time to time. They used to share cigarettes, but they don’t do that anymore cause Jason’s a quitter.” Is it just me, or do these boys sound more like brothers than friends?   I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.

In Music City, every night is a boot-scootin' Saturday night! | Music City Minute

Typically, Wednesday nights are not very exciting. However, in Nashville, the middle of the week looks and sounds a lot different from most cities. For example, last hump day, five of the biggest names and country music casually treated fans to intimate shows across Music City. First up was Kacey Musgraves, who hosted an album release party for "Middle of Nowhere" at the Nashville Palace. The Grammy winner entertained her guests with first ever performances of "Hell On Me" and "Rhinestone." Next, Keith Urban played The Mill at Cannery Hall, where he gave fans a taste of his upcoming yacht rock album called "Flow State." About a mile down the road, Blake Shelton put on a pulse-pounding show at Ole Red’s, delivering stadium energy performances of "God’s Country," "Texas" and "Austin." Finally, Thomas Rhett and Jordan Davis lit up the stage at Old Dominion’s bar, Odie’s in Midtown. Fans who were lucky enough to get into the free show were treated to acoustic versions of "Die a Happy Man," "T-Shirt," "Look What God Gave Her" and "Ain’t a Bad Life." Heck, who knew midweek could sound so good?   I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.

Country music loses icon and outlaw | Music City Minute

When we hear the words Outlaw Country, the biggest characters that immediately come to mind are Johnny Cash, Waylon, Willie, Kris and Merle. However, there are a lot more artists that make up the subgenre that we may have forgotten about. Folks like Townes Van Zandt, Steve Earle, Jessi Coulter, Tanya Tucker, Hank Junior and Johnny Paycheck. What is interesting about that list is it shows that Outlaw Country wasn’t only made up of former criminals. In fact, the movement was way more than someone’s jacket. It was actually a blend of sounds and ideas contradictory and in-protest against the conservative, commercial Nashville Sound leading into the 60s and 70s. With that in mind, sadly country music says "goodbye" to one of the most iconic (and polarizing) individuals in Outlaw Country, David Allan Coe. Known for such definitive songs as "You Never Even Called Me by My Name," "The Ride" and "Penitentiary Blues," the singer-songwriter's family confirmed his health had been declining, and he passed away after a brief stay in the ICU. David Allan Coe was 86 years old.   I’m Sheena, and that’s Music City Minute.

Willie Nelson: the man, myth, outlaw and legend – at 93, he is still truckin' on | Music City Minute

If you were to crack open the dictionary and look up the word legend, you would see a full-page picture of Willie Nelson right next to the definition. This week, we celebrate Ole Poncho, who turned 93 on April 29, and talk about a man who has seen and done at all! Willie’s music career began following a stint in the Air Force and finding work as a disc jockey. At the same time, he was already honing his craft writing hit songs like "Crazy" and "Hello Walls" before turning his back on Nashville and returning home to Texas. He would eventually go onto record albums like "Shotgun Willie" and "Redheaded Stranger," while simultaneously pioneering the Outlaw Country movement with friends Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson. Over the last seven decades, Nelson has recorded 104 studio albums, won dozens of Grammys, ACM and CMA awards and earned inductions into the Country Music Hall of Fame and Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame, cementing his iconic image of equal parts, hippie, cowboy and rock star.   I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.

Avery Anna receives surprise of a lifetime from Sam Barber | Music City Minute

Imagine you are performing in front of a packed house like you have done hundreds of times before. Yet, there is something different about this concert, and it’s about to get very emotional like it did for an up-and-coming artist at the Lonestar Smokeout Festival in Texas. Avery Anna has officially joined the ranks of Megan Moroney, Ella Langley and Miss Lainey Wilson as this year’s ACM New Female Artist. “I’m just so grateful for this for people like you that show up for artists like me, and so thank you guys so much, this is such an honor!” said the Arizona native. Talk about a roller coaster of emotions. Avery Anna was joined on stage by Sam Barber, her family and her management as they all presented the 22-year-old with her first ACM trophy. The Indigo singer received heaps of praise online from fellow female artists, including Megan Moroney, McKenzie Porter, Carly Pearce and Emily Ann Roberts as well as friends and fans. Congratulations, Miss Avery Anna, on your well-deserved achievement.   I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.

Turns out, Lainey Wilson has always been 'hell on wheels!' | Music City Minute

Do you know what I love about country artists? They are honest about their lives being similar to ours (aside from the global superstar thing). Yet, that is what is so special about the genre – just how down-to-earth artists can be. Speaking of relatable, Lainey Wilson recently shared a story about an incident from her younger days in Baskin, Louisiana, that found her on the wrong side of the law. “I got a ticket when I was 15 for going 75 [mph] in a 45 [mph zone]. Thank goodness the judge was my next door neighbor and he made me write a song about speeding,” Wilson admits. While many of us can relate to a speeding ticket, I do not think any of us were lucky enough to receive the same specific consequences. Regardless, I cannot help but appreciate the elements of that story that screams small town. I mean, the population of Baskin is only about 250 folks after all. At the end of the day though, the “Heart Like A Truck” singer’s cheeky story could be an awesome country song; however, instead of the judge being her neighbor, she should change it to “granddad” for that real country bite.   I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.

Max McNown shares his musical passions and greatest influences | Music City Minute

Max McNown has come a long way from growing up in Bend, Oregon, busking on the San Clemente pier in California, then landing in Nashville, where he writes and records hit songs. The 24-year-old recently opened up about some of the most influential artists who make up his catalog of favorites, which includes Zach Bryan, Noah Kahan, Tyler Childers and perhaps most interestingly a Boulder-based indie singer-songwriter. “Gregory Alan Isakov is one of my favorite artists of all time. I would love to pick his brain on how he writes his music – because the way that he writes, the way that he creates the world with his songs that you’re going to be living in as you listen to him, is something that I could really learn from,” said McNown. I personally love that quote, because we can really hear the admiration and awe dripping from every word in that statement. I really feel like the next time the "Better Me For You" singer plays the Denver area, KYGO could work a few local contacts to make that life changing meeting happen!   I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.

Darius Rucker surprises fans with new venture outside of music | Music City Music

I have a confession in my not-so-distant past: I was obsessed with professional wrestling, which culminated in a peak fan moment of meeting Rey Mysterio Junior. If that seems like a surprising admission, I have more for you! As it turns out, Darius Rucker (yes, Hootie) is a huge professional wrestling fanboy. In fact, he is such a big fan he signed a deal with WWE to get a slice of a pie through merchandise. The "Wagon Wheel" singer has launched a new clothing line with WWE and Fanatics featuring t-shirts, flannels and jackets, with prices ranging between $40 and $110. Now, with all this exciting news, we cannot help but wonder if Rucker is going to find himself climbing into the ring anytime soon. I mean, he is an incredibly fit guy for almost 60. Moreover, if he does suit up the spandex, what do you think his wrestling name would be? According to the Wrestling Name Generator, he would be called Wayne "Big Body" Stone, a heel whose finishing move is a right-handed kick.   I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.

Ella Langley's fan club has two new high-profile members | Music City Minute

In country music, Ella Langley is the hottest thing on two wheels. On the heels of releasing her sophomore album, "Dandelion," Langley admits she is still getting used to superstardom. The Alabama native has been open about her struggles with imposter syndrome, anxiety and weight of her bangs being recognized everywhere she goes. While Ella's bona fide talent speaks for itself, at heart, the 26-year-old remains a no-name girl with a guitar and a dream. That said, Langley hilariously shared how she gets starstruck when meeting country legends and icons. One particular "freak out" happened when meeting Blake Shelton and Eric Church. The "Weren't For The Wind" singer went as far to declare she was having a fangirl moment and needed a beat to act "weird" and get out her excitement. With that in mind, I wonder how Langley would act if the opportunity arose to meet two of her biggest fans, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick? In fact, the couple posted an adorable video covering the song "Be Her," that has gone viral. Not going to lie, if I was Ella, I would end up screaming, crying and throwing up (not necessarily in that order) if Valentine from "Tremors" and Julia from "Heart and Souls" covered one of my original songs!   I'm Sheena, and that's your Music City Minute.

Country songs that have reached 1 billion streams | Music City Minute

While most of us have a basic grasp of mathematical concepts, it can be difficult to fathom the difference between 1 million and 1 billion. For instance, 1 million seconds equals about 11.5 days, whereas 1 billion seconds adds up to just over 31 years! Needless to say, 1 billion is a big number, and when a song reaches 1 billion streams, it is an equally massive accomplishment. Currently, there are 15 country songs apart of this ultra-exclusive club, with the newest member being Sam Hunt and his song "Body Like A Back Road." The rest of the honors include Dasha's "Austin," Taylor Swift's "Love Story," Dan and Shay's "10,000 Hours," "I Had Some Help" from Post Malone and Morgan Wallen. These are followed by Chris Stapleton's "Tennessee Whiskey," Bebe Rexha's "Meant To Be," Shaboozey's "A Bar Song (Tipsy)," "Old Town Road" from Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus, Zach Bryan’s "Something In The Orange" and "I Remember Everything." Lastly are Morgan Wallen's smash hits  "Whiskey Glasses" and "Last Night," as well as "Beautiful Crazy" and "When It Rains, It Pours" from Luke Combs.   I'm Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.

Eric Church pushes through pain to deliver pulse-pounding show for Jacksonville fans | Music City Minute

In show business, there are two important phrases artists live by: "break a leg" (meaning good luck) and "the show must go on." That said, it would seem Eric Church has taken both of those phrases a little too seriously, and let’s just say the 48 hours leading up to a recent Jacksonville, Florida, show were just as incredible and unforgettable as the concert itself. Acknowledging his mismatched footwear (consisting of a regular boot and walking cast boot), the North Carolina native recounted how he accidentally kicked the *#!% out of his suitcase, resulting in a broken left foot. Yet, regardless of the cast, Church promised to make up for his lack of mobility with a passionate performance. Needless to say, the Chief certainly lived up to his word, with fans confirming a lively 2 1/2-hour performance. Not only that, the 48-year-old added a little flourish to the song "These Boots" by singing the line "Nearly kicked that suitcase across the room!" Thankfully, the "Springsteen" singer only has two more dates left on his calendar before a nice long break until June.   I'm Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.

Jo Dee Messina opens up about weight loss, wellness and new music | Music City Minute

You may have heard artists, especially singers, refer to their body as their instrument, and as any good musician will tell you, it is important to take care of said instrument. With that, country icon Jo Dee Messina has made the conscious effort to maintain a finely tuned musical apparatus. Recently, the singer opened up about her life changes and new music. The 55-year-old admits her 90-pound weight loss can be difficult to maintain, especially on tour when all of the food you could possibly imagine is at your fingertips. To help offset impulsive temptations, Messina has changed her rider requirements from junk food and soda to leaner options like protein bars, water, coffee and electrolyte mixes. Additionally, the singer dedicates time every day for cardio and strength training, even if it is light. Although these changes may seem small, the CMA and ACM winner says that she feels more spiritually and emotionally alive than ever and distilled those positive vibes into a brand new album called "Bridges," dropping this summer.   I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.

Mitchell Tenpenny expands his family | Music City Minute

In a world of doom scrolling and artificial intelligence, it feels like good news is hard to come by. However, for the second time this week, I found myself crying happy tears while watching a reel from Mitchell Tenpenny and his wife Meghan Patrick. In a beautiful announcement, Patrick mentioned how thankful she is for an amazing husband who will also make an amazing dad. Shocked and nearly speechless, Tenpenny only managed to ask “Are you serious?” Later in the reel, the couple revealed they are expecting a baby girl. As the video wrapped, Mitchell pulled the best practical joke, telling his wife nothing recorded (giving Meghan quite the start!) Thankfully, all the sweet and hilarious content ended up fully recorded for posterity and internet. Congratulations to happy the Mama and Papa who cannot wait for baby Tenpenny to arrive this fall.   I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.

Parker McCollum lands Hail Mary pass to young fan with cancer | Music City Minute

Similar to Batman, Parker McCollum received a distress signal and responded without hesitation. Recently, a woman named Alana opened about her 17-year-old son Kolton’s battle with an aggressive form of leukemia and equally aggressive treatments in Houston, Texas. In February, as Kolton was reaching the end of his current cycle, his mom bought tickets to the Parker McCollum show at Rodeo Houston to celebrate. Yet, a higher power had very different plans for the family. As it turns out, a donor was miraculously matched with Kolton, and a transplant was arranged, but unfortunately, it also meant that he would miss the Rodeo Huston concert. However, thankfully that higher power wasn’t finished. Unbeknownst to the teen, his mom had reached out to Parker McCollum’s team, explained the situation and simply asked for a signed t-shirt in lieu of attending the show. Well, the “Pretty Heart” singer would have none of that and instead decided to visit the teen personally. Needless to say, the singer’s kindness meant so much to Kolton and his mom. Not only that, since the private meet and greet, Colton has gone into a complete remission and will be heading home any day.   I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute. Nashville + pro rodeo + country music = Music City rodeo and Grand Ole Opry takeover! | Music City Minute

Tim McGraw, Reba McEntire and Jelly Roll all agree that rodeo and country music go together like Vienna sausages and Cheese Whiz or 38-inch wheels and KC Lights on your daily driver. With that in mind, it always felt unusual that a city like Nashville wouldn’t regularly host any major pro rodeo events. However, Miss Reba, McGraw and Jelly decided it was time to change the game and officially launched Music City Rodeo last May. This year’s annual event is set to take place at the Bridgestone Arena, May 28 through 30 and will feature headline performances by Miranda Lambert, Charley Crockett and Jon Pardi. Not only that, a newly announced event has been added to the lineup of festivities in which Music City Rodeo takes over the Grand Ole Opry with live music from Ashley Cook, Hudson Westbrook and Jon Pardi, May 5. Yes sir, it is always 5 o'clock somewhere! | Music City Minute

The influence of two major players in the country and rock genres will continue to inspire generations of fans, young and old, in the form of a festival. This year, West Palm Beach, Florida, will be hosting the inaugural Alan Jackson’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere Fest. Embodying the vibes of the famous – or should we say infamous – collaboration between Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett, the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Fest will be a destination festival like no other. The inaugural lineup includes Rodney Atkins, John Anderson, Shenandoah, Clint Black, Dylan Scott, Jimmy Buffett‘s Coral Reefer Band, and starring Old Dominion and Ella Langley as a festival headliners June 12 and 13. Although the multi-day party’s namesake is not set to perform, that does not mean there will not be an Adirondack chair specifically set up for Alan Jackson side stage. Carrie Underwood: fame is for the adults, let the kids be kids | Music City Minute

Carrie Underwood has opened up about her personal life, specifically whether or not she would encourage her young sons Isaiah and Jacob to audition for a show such as "American Idol." While Underwood believes both of our sons are naturally talented singers, even pointing out how Isaiah is a mini her in so many ways, she is certainly not eager to become a stage mom. The season four "American Idol" winner admits neither of our sons are ready for the stage. Furthermore, she would only give her blessing to compete on a reality show such as "American Idol" when her boys are older and more established. In the meantime, Carrie Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher are perfectly content with their kids being kids and maintaining a very strict separation between home and work. Sounds like the proud Mama and Papa are doing what they can to raise their boys right.   I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute. Sam Hunt's career rides on a surprising number of studio albums | Music City Minute

When Sam Hunt burst onto the country music scene, he was primed and marketed as the next big thing. That said, he has certainly proved himself as a recording artist and performer over the last decade. Even though he has charted eleven number one songs, Hunt has only released two studio albums since signing with MCA Nashville. Even by today’s standards – with most country albums averaging 15 to 30 songs that an artist can promote for about two years – two albums since 2014 is ridiculously low by comparison. However, Sam Hunt is not alone in this uniquely tiny boat. For instance, The Band Perry has only put out three country albums, Jamey Johnson only has four studio albums to his name and sadly, Keith Whitley only recorded three albums before passing away in 1989. By the way, very few artists and bands can compare to Willie Nelson, who has put out 104 studio albums over 70 years, averaging about 15 albums a decade!   I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute. Country Music Hall of Fame Class of 2026 confirmed | Music City Minute

Well, butter my backside and call me a biscuit – Tim McGraw is joining the Country Music Hall of Fame! The good news came down on Friday, March 20, with McGraw earning a spot in the Modern Era category, which recognizes artists who have achieved national prominence over 20 years. As for the Veterans Era category, Ralph and Carter Stanley, (aka The Stanley Brothers) are being honored for their decadeslong career, which is punctuated by their most popular tune, "Man of Constant Sorrow." Interestingly, the Stanley Brothers band, known as the Clinch Mountain Boys, included a number of influential musicians, such as Ricky Skaggs and Keith Whitley. Finally, Paul Overstreet was selected in honor of his legendary storytelling. In fact, his songwriting credits are linked to massively popular songs such as "Forever and Ever Amen," "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy," "When You Say Nothing At All" and "Some Ole Me," recorded by The Possum, George Jones. Huge congratulations to this year's inductees!   I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute. Ramos Law, the official injury law firm partner of BRONCOS COUNTRY.

Welcome back, Florida Georgia Line! | Music City Minute

Y’all, it has happened – the reunion we have been wishing, hoping, thinking and praying for since August 31, 2022. Just a few days ago, Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard took the stage together in Nashville for a live performance! The reason for the band getting back together had to do with their good friend Jason Aldean, who was the guest of honor at a celebration of the 49-year-old, Georgia boy's decadeslong career and catalog of hits. As it turns out, Brian Kelley, Tyler Hubbard and Morgan Wallen cowrote Aldean's 2018 hit, "You Make It Easy", and the boys of FGL performed the song for an ecstatic crowd. While the performance may have been just a one-off situation, the energy between Kelley and Hubbard was palpable. Even though the future is a mystery *knock on wood* a full-scale reunion is feels closer than ever.   I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute. Fresh batch of country tunes sweeter than a spring nectarine | Music City Minute

Spring is an enchanting time, and honestly, a second chance at a new beginning. Now, technically, the spring equinox does not occur until Friday, March 20, but it is never too early for "Blue Skies" and "Starting Over." In fact, you can begin stirring up those good vibes with the playlist of brand new music from our favorite country artist. Fresh off the acetate press, Luke Combs dropped a new single called "I Ain’t No Cowboy." Tucker Wetmore sings about summer love in "Sunburn." Flatland Calvary‘s latest single is called "Real Slow," while Lainey Wilson dropped an autobiographical song called "Can’t Sit Still." Carly Pearce and Riley Green put out a very steamy collaboration titled "If I Don’t Leave, I’m Gonna Stay." Kane Brown gushes about his "Woman," as Miss Kacey Musgraves endures "A Dry Spell." Bailey Zimmerman and Brandon Lake teamed up for "Just Believe," and Noah Kahan released a single called, "Porch Light." Charley Crockett fans rejoice his newly released single "Fastest Gun Alive," and the über adorable Chase Matthew just dropped "Bet This Town." Hot dang, that is almost an hour of fresh tunes sweeter than a spring nectarine.   I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.

Riley Green: 'Well, this is going to be a fun story to tell in the emergency room...' | Music City Minute

Since the dawn of creative expression, artists have been the target of some gnarly flying projectiles. Over the centuries, this behavior has been dubbed fan-mania, which is very different from the run-of-the-mill "boo fest," where a disgruntled audience would throw rotting vegetables (and other naturally occurring organic material) at performers. Some of the earliest documented fan-mania dates back to the 1840s with pianist Franz Liszt, whose audience would toss flowers and tokens during his performance. Apparently, a facet of Beatlemania was throwing jellybeans at the British band, while Tom Jones fans would often toss their undergarments on stage. Understandably, many fans will probably think their actions are harmless. However, in the 2020s, I have seen a sharp uptick in injuries related to fan-mania. One of the latest incidents happened to Riley Green while he was performing in Melbourne, Australia. In the middle of the concert, a fan’s cell phone hit Green in the head, leaving him with a bloody gash on his earlobe requiring five stitches. Can we please all agree to stop this nonsense and act as if we have had home training and not like "degens" from up country? Your favorite artist would appreciate it. (BTW, the so called "fan" who threw the phone was practically tarred, feathered and run out of the venue on a rail.)   I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.

Colter Wall gives up 'transcendent ramblin'' in hopes of 'corralling the blues' | Music City Minute

One of my all-time favorite movies is called "The Rose," starring Bette Midler, from 1979. Inspired and loosely based on the life of Janis Joplin, Midler's character Mary Rose is a popular yet self-destructive rock star who struggles to cope with the demands of her high-profile occupation. Throughout the story, Mary Rose pleads desperately for a break that she never receives and, unfortunately, ends in tragedy. While this has been an undeniable challenge in the music business, it feels like the tide is beginning to turn. Today, there is a sharper focus on mental health. Several country stars like Ella Langley, Luke Combs and Kane Brown have been very open about their mental and emotional dysregulation along with their individual means of self care. That said, Canadian musician Colter Wall admits his mental health has been steadily declining. In order to take care of himself, the "Sleeping on the Blacktop" singer has canceled his remaining tour dates. Additionally, the 30-year-old's official statement mentions an "indefinite hiatus from live music," after which Wall thanked his fans for their understanding and support.   I'm Sheena, and that's your Music City Minute.   *If you or someone you know is struggling with an emotional, mental health or substance use concern, call or text 988 or visit 988Colorado.com to live chat.

Sturgill Simpson evokes spirit of Johnny Blue Skies for new concept album | Music City Minute

In the music world, a concept album or song typically breaks from the cookie cutter commercial structure, allowing an artist more creative freedom. Oftentimes an artist will assume a character for alter ego such as Chris Gaines, Earl Dibbles Junior or Darla McFarland. That said, one could argue that nearly all of Sturgill Simpson‘s work could be considered concept art. The Kentucky native's latest alter ego, Johnny Blue Skies, has already put out an 8-song LP called "Passage du Desir," which received a ton of critical acclaim. Now, two years later, Johnny Blue Skies is back with a brand new project called "Mutiny After Midnight." Originally scheduled for release March 13, the 47-year-old played into the pirate imagery of the album title and personally leaked all nine songs to YouTube for the “real ones." Frankly, leaking his own music was a bold move that has seen many wind up in civil court. Nevertheless, I feel like fans and fellow creatives can agree, Sturgill Simpson respectfully embodies the traits of a modern-day country outlaw.   I'm Sheena, and that's your Music City Minute.

Jelly Roll proves achieves a powerful (and rare) honor | Music City Minute

A modern-day "Man in Black" is now a bona fide member of the Grand Ole Opry. This week, friends Craig Morgan, Ernest and comedian Leanne Morgan were on-hand to celebrate Jelly Roll's Opry induction in front of a packed house. Additionally, Lainey Wilson delivered a heartfelt speech where she called Jelly Roll a true friend and mentor, followed by the presentation of the Nashville native's official membership trophy. The night was made even more special with the inclusion of Jelly Roll's family, who watched in awe from the front row. Not only that, the "Haunted" singer was strengthened by the spirit of Johnny Cash: proudly wearing a gold cross, on loan from the Cash estate, that belonged to the original man in black. Jason "Jelly Roll" DeFord joins the 100-year-old highly elite club consisting of 235 total members. Of those, only 77 are active members, while two members are considered active but retired.   I'm Sheena, and that's your Music City Minute.

Aaron Watson to Tucker Wetmore: Hey bud, that "paper plate" isn't doing you any favors. Here's how to fix it

Not only is Tucker Wetmore musically talented, the 26-year-old is also properly fit and not afraid to shake his moneymaker on and off the stage. While there is no shortage of thirst trap pictures on the "Wind Up Missing You" singer's social feed, one particular photo shared recently had country music interwebs abuzz. Appearing in a carousel of candid snaps, the photo in question is that of what I am going call a "three-quarter moon" (in an effort to stay PG). Although the Washington native received a flood of comments from friends and fans alike, apparently not everybody was impressed. Texas hitmaker Aaron Watson offered up a few tips to help the country youngin' add some shape to his "pancake moon." Watson suggested Tucker complete a circuit of 100 to 132 "mom squats" a day in order to achieve a fuller, three-dimensional shape. By the way, Tucker Wetmore's latest single, "Brunette," is an up-tempo, tongue-twisting treat. Brunette is also the name of Wetmore’s world tour, which will wrap up October 27 at Red Rocks!   I'm Sheena, and that's your Music City Minute.

Morgan Evans steps out shadows, reveals exciting new personal and professional era | Music City Minute

Here is a name we have not heard in a while: Morgan Evans. After he and Kelsea Ballerini finalized their very public divorce, the Aussie singer-songwriter felt the best way to heal was to step back and assume a low profile. Like so many of us, Evans processed his sadness and grief by throwing himself into work. Now three years post breakup, Evans is ready to feel a spotlight again. In a recent interview, the 40-year-old became an open book. He described how his lowest points were punctuated with confusion and anger over public scrutiny aimed at him through tabloids and social media. Thankfully, with the help of family, friends, writing, recording and much-needed rest and relaxation in his native Newcastle, Australia, the "Day Drunk" singer has found peace. In fact, he is releasing a new 11-song album called "Steel Town" March 20, followed by a headline tour around Australia and New Zealand. Not only that, Evans has found a special someone to take up his time: fellow Nashville artist Laci Kaye Booth.   I'm Sheena, and that's your Music City Minute.

Rascal Flatts and Ella Langley honor country music tradition with end-of-tour gift exchange | Music City Minute

In the immortal words of Geoffrey Chaucer, all good things must come to an end. Having said that, within the last month, Rascal Flatts, Eric Church and their support acts celebrated the conclusion of multi-week performances with traditional end-of-tour gifts. As a "thank you" for setting the tone each night of the Life Is A Highway tour, the boys of Rascal Flatts surprised their openers Chris Lane and Lauren Alaina with a brand spankin' new Ford Mustang and Ford Bronco, respectively. On the flip side, technically Eric Church's Free The Machine tour has not fully concluded, with shows scheduled through April. However, Ella Langley's spell as tour opener reached an end Valentine's Day in Albany, New York. The "Choosing Texas" singer expressed her gratitude with a unique gift she randomly found in an antique store. The Chief instantly fell in love with the 1920s pocket watch and vintage knife, which are attached by delicate a gold chain. Perhaps the wildest (and spookiest) part about this gift was an original engraving of the letter “E” adorning the watch.   I'm Sheena, and that's your Music City Minute.

Carrie Underwood addresses 'American Idol' haters | Music City Minute

Carrie Underwood's stint as a judge on "American Idol" has felt different this season. The one-time winner of the reality competition show seems a lot more comfortable sharing her true opinions, both positive and constructive. That said, not everybody agrees with her forward approach, especially the live Nashville audience. More than once during the Music City takeover week, the 42-year-old received negative feedback from the crowd in the form of "boos," which is practically unheard of for an artist of her caliber. The congregation's discontent grew especially heavy after the elimination of a young artist named Mor. Even though auditioning with an original song initially earned him a golden ticket to the next round, unfortunately Mor's tactic did not land with the judges a second time. Yet, in spite of the forthcoming displeasure, Carrie Underwood held strong. Armed with the confidence of a global superstar with over 50 industry awards, she gave her honest assessment and then told the live and social media audience to take their "boos" and shove it.   I'm Sheena, and that's your Music City Minute.

Jelly Roll is a tough cookie, shares truth about current rehabilitation | Music City Minute

In the event you needed a country music artist to keep a secret, consider Jelly Roll your Huckleberry. That said, the "Need a Favor" singer has opened up about painful information he has held close to vest. For over a month, Jelly Roll has been quietly undergoing treatment and rehabilitation. But, hold on, it is not what you are thinking. Just before the Grammy Awards, the country rocker was in a serious accident, breaking his collarbone and totaling his ATV. After seeing an x-ray of the injury and considering the amount of pain he would have been in, it is remarkable the 41-year-old even made it to the Grammys days later. Even though the award ceremony was a personal and professional high for Jelly Roll, he admits he was barely keeping it together, describing how anytime someone came in for a hug, he wanted to cry. On the side note, unfortunately, ATV accidents within the country music community regularly occur. Indeed Jelly Roll, Matt Ramsey of Old Dominion and Zach Bryan could start an ATV crash club, but instead of in a jacket, inductees would receive a personalized, members-only cast.   I'm Sheena, and that's your Music City Minute.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees that paved the way for modern country artists | Music City Minute

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has revealed their nominees for the class of 2026. On the surface, we do not see nominees of obvious country influence like current members Dolly Parton or Willie Nelson. However, if we dig a little deeper, at least three embody a distinctly roots-y, Americana vibe. Let us start with The Black Crows. Their mix of folk, blues and rock helped nurture the modern jam band scene, which is currently exploding in popularity with artists like Billy Strings. Next is Melissa Etheridge, who was dominant in alternative rock circles. Yet today, her raspy vocals, honest storytelling, consistent use of acoustic guitar and producing music with Shooter Jennings, I would say she is easily a country and rock icon! Finally, we are going to examine Jeff Buckley...hear me out. Buckley's unique mix of aching lyrics, affinity for telecaster guitars and subtle use of Hammond B3 organ and slide guitar would place him right at home with up-and-comers like Max McNown and Hudson Westbrook. At the end of the day, these artists certainly deserve recognition for their contributions in the rock genre, but also  for their role in shaping modern country music.   I'm Sheena, and that's your Music City Minute.

Saint Dolly Parton continues lifelong mission to leave the world better than how she found it | Music City Minute

Luke Bryan famously said, or sang, rather, "Most mamas ought to qualify for sainthood." In truth, folks of all shapes, sizes and occupations routinely demonstrate goodwill worthy of veneration. My favorite example is an angel from the Smoky Mountains who has a knack for delivering long-term impactful miracles. Dolly Parton's latest endeavor aims to provide hope, support and longevity for sick kids. "I’ve always believed every child deserves a chance to grow up healthy, hopeful and surrounded with love. I am so excited to share East Tennessee Children’s Hospital is becoming, Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital. Together, [Parton & the hospital staff] are committed to strengthening a relationship where world class care, and a caring heart, go hand-in-hand for children across East Tennessee and beyond," declared the 80-year-old icon via a recorded statement. Goodness gracious, I believe that woman’s heart is truly bigger than her hair. Unfortunately, official circles would never recognize a “country canonization.” Never the less, to us, Saint Dolly has more than earned a bona fide title.   I'm Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.

Nashville's people and places: here today, gone tomorrow | Music City Minute

Perpetual change throughout life's ebb and flow is inescapable. Thankfully, two things always remain constant: time marching forward and a relatable country song. On that note, sweeping winds of change have picked up in Music City lately. Let us start with huge congratulations to Luke and Nicole Combs, who welcome their third baby, a boy named Chet Wiley! I am sure big brothers Tex and Beau warmly welcomed the news of a baby brother. Next, an upscale restaurant in Nashville co-owned by Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan and former MLB player Adam LaRoche has closed its doors. A statement noted the team at E3 Chophouse is exploring new opportunities and a potential rebrand. If E3 Chophouse sounds familiar, it could be because a second one is located in Steamboat Springs. Solely owned by LaRoche, the Colorado location will not be affected by the closure. Finally, Kane Brown has inked a deal to open a venue on the Honky-Tonk Highway. Kane Brown's On Broadway will be a four-story saloon, include an iconic rooftop bar and set to open this summer. Hey, if we are lucky, these recent headwinds may stir-up new song inspiration too.   I'm Sheena, and that's your Music City Minute.

Dierks Bentley recruits legendary musician for epic passion project | Music City Minute

Well, well, well, look who is living their bluegrass dream! One of Colorado’s (favorite) adopted sons, Dierks Bentley, will be heading out on tour this summer with the legendary Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder. Needless to say, Bentley's hits are going to sound different on this tour – less contemporary and more like the mountain music that Grandma and Grandpa used to play. Interestingly, the idea to call the tour Off The Map was inspired by a composition of the same name from Bentley's "Broken Branches" album. Moreover, the song itself refers to that one place where you can truly relax, forget about your worries and give your soul a good recharge. Now, you might be thinking Bentley is settling for a slowdown, but that assumption is a full bubble off plumb. In fact, I have heard the bluegrass remix of "Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go)," and I can assure you the show will deliver a high-energy vibe. The Off The Map tour has eleven dates and includes a stop in Colorado Springs, July 2 at the Ford Amphitheater. Tickets for this one-of-a-kind Bentley show have already gone on sale. Tim McGraw was on the verge of burnout until Faith Hill showed him a better life | Music City Minute

Music is a way of interpreting human experience. Whether it's hiring a wino to decorate your house, your daddy giving you a funny name, waiting on a woman or describing a date at Applebee’s, someone has written a country song about it. Of course, not all compositions have a comedic tone. Matter of fact, I bet you know a few songs about love, respect, war, heartache and a fellow who was burning the candle at both ends until a woman walked in his life and saved him. On that note, Tim McGraw will be the first to admit that his wife Faith Hill was his saving grace. The 58-year-old goes on to explain how his threadbare upbringing could not have prepared him for massive fame. For the first time in his life, he had an abundance of cash, which he used to fuel a never-ending party. Luckily, McGraw was blessed with divine intervention, and through the love and patience of Faith Hill, he realized there was a lot more to live for besides getting stoned and singing all night long. Today, the country power couple remain strong, having raised three beautiful daughters, Audrey, Gracie and Maggie, and will celebrate 30 years of marriage in October.   I'm Sheena, and that's your Music City Minute.

Thomas Rhett teases musical shift | Music City Minute

In a bustling music hub such as Nashville, artists are a dime a dozen. That said, a musically versatile artist would likely have more opportunities than the one-trick pony. Over the years, plenty of country stars have dipped their toes into other genres. Take, for example, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, LeAnn Rimes and Taylor Swift, who all had successful forays in pop music. Meanwhile, Johnny Cash, Hardy and Carrie Underwood have expertly blurred the lines between rock and country on occasion. Then, we have folks like Dierks Bentley, who is just as comfortable playing bluegrass as his mainstream hits. Interestingly, Thomas Rhett has given this topic a lot of thought. The "Life Changes" singer admits he would love to give Motown a shot, complete with a six-to-eight-piece band, which actually is not too far off from his current sound. With that in mind, prepare to have to "timbers shivered," because Rhett's true crossover dream is to write and perform Rat Pack, Las Vegas-esque crooner tunes with a full orchestra. The 35-year-old goes on to say that he cannot promise it would be good, but it would definitely be a fun experience. Personally, I think he should git'r done sooner rather than later.   I'm Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.

Move over boys, Ella Langley is cookin' (and it ain't biscuits)! | Music City Minute

Country music has evolved significantly over the decades, yet male dominance in the format has stayed the same. Legendary female artists like Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Reba, The Judds, Shania Twain, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert and Lainey Wilson will admit that just because they’re a woman, they had to work twice as hard to get even half the exposure of a male artist. Fortunately, those women and many more in country music are survivors, and I am so proud to recognize Ella Langley for her latest achievement. Langley's current single, "Choosin' Texas" has claimed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. But that’s not all! The 26-year-old's hit record also tops the Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts, which is equal parts impressive and historic. According to Billboard, only three other songs have simultaneously topped all three charts, and yes, they were all by males. By the way, "Choosin' Texas" has been streamed over 300 million times, earning the single a bona fide platinum certification. For all that hard work, Ella Langley deserves a big "hell yeah!"   I'm Sheena, and that's your Music City Minute.

Gotcha! Luke Bryan and Brad Paisley left Carrie Underwood in hysterics on 'American Idol' | Music City Minute

Country music artists have a lot of pride in their work. Viral songs, award winning albums and touring the world are a reflection of their dedication and spirit, after all. However, there’s another form of art that seems to get just as much focus and practice within the music community: pranking. A couple of the best jokesters in the biz, Brad Paisley and Luke Bryan, pulled a hilarious prank over on Carrie Underwood and Lionel Richie during filming for "American Idol." The gruesome twosome recruited a fake auditioner Dylan Holmes to really sell the believability of the scenario, starting with Luke Bryan returning to the judge's desk with a hidden earpiece. Backstage, Brad Paisley secretly fed Bryan lines via the earpiece during Holmes' fake audition, leaving Bryan's co-judges believing his cheese had slipped completely off his cracker. To call the execution flawless would be an understatement. After the ruse was revealed, a clearly shocked Carrie Underwood admitted she was clueless of the lark and never questioned Luke Bryan's shenanigans as anything other than authentic.   I'm Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.

Jelly Roll gives away Grammy Award for very important reason | Music City Minute

As a society, we have come to expect compelling backstories for high-achieving individuals. Specifically, in pop culture, hallmarks of an artist’s lore are a key part of their identity – and by golly, we are suckers for a redemption story. A shining example of his concept is Jelly Roll. He has been very open about his troubled past and the poor choices that landed him in juvenile and adult detention. Even though he cannot right the wrongs of his past, the “Amen” singer recognized his opportunity to use his solid foundation of redemption songs to help others going through similar or hopeless situations. With that in mind, Jelly Roll has big plans to share his latest professional achievements at the Grammy Awards with the Davidson County Juvenile Detention Center in Nashville. The Tennessee native is hoping that by gifting one of his Grammys to the center, he can bring hope an inspiration to youths just like him, and ideally motivate the boys to turn their lives around. Luke Combs: nearly destitute, this one early career move changed his entire life | Music City Minute

Have you heard the story about the starving artist on the verge of desperation and down to their last few bucks who then catch their big break? It is a tale as old as time and a key component of many artists' origin story. Luke Combs recently opened up about this very specific era in his career. The North Carolina native described arriving in Nashville with stars in his eyes and eager to record songs for a demo tape. Unfortunately, professional studio time is very expensive, especially for a struggling artist. With only $200 left to his name, Combs was at a crossroads. In order to release any of the songs for public consumption, they would need to be professionally mastered (essentially the last step in audio production when a full final song is polished) before distribution could begin. Not only that, the mastering process was going to cost him $200 per song! Armed with the confidence of a 25-year-old, Combs put all his chips on the line to master one song: "Hurricane." Thankfully, it was a gamble that paid off and ultimately launched him into superstardom.   I'm Sheena, and that's your Music City Minute.

Ella Langley charts epic course this year, Kameron and Dylan = Brothers Marlowe? | Music City Minute

Ella Langley has revealed big plans for 2026. The Alabama Honky-Tonk angel will be dropping her brand new album "Dandelion" on April 10. A few short weeks after that, the "Choosin' Texas" singer will kick off a headline tour, playing 16 dates throughout the spring and summer. Langley recruited top-notch support acts to join her on the road such as Kaitlin Butts, Kameron Marlowe and Dylan Marlowe. Even though the tour will not be stopping in Colorado, Langley is slated to open for Morgan Wallen May 30 at Empower Field at Mile High. On a side note, seeing Dylan and Kameron Marlowe's names side-by-side made me wonder if they are related. Honestly, it would not be that far-fetched considering the disproportionately high number of familial ties in country music compared to other genres. Despite the same spelling of their last name, sharing surprisingly similar eyes and nose, growing up only four hours from each other and above average singing and songwriting skills landing them in Nashville, Kameron and Dylan Marlowe, to the best of their knowledge, are not family. That being said, I feel like they would be great candidates for an episode of "Finding Your Roots."   I'm Sheena, and that's your Music City Minute.

68th Grammy Awards: biggest wins in country music | Music City Minute

Music is a uniquely powerful force that transcends human constructs such as age, nationality, tax bracket and even time, allowing us to connect and unite physically and spiritually. That said, artists from across the musical spectrum gathered to celebrate and recognize the fruits of their labor at the 68th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. There were plenty of surprise wins and deeply moving acceptance speeches. As far as the country leaning categories are concerned, Jelly Roll led the pack with his three wins for Best Contemporary Country Album, Best Country Duo or Group Performance with Shaboozey and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance with Brandon Lake. Tyler Childers' "Bitin' List" won Best Country Song, Chris Stapleton's "Bad As I Used To Be" won Best Country Solo Performance and Zach Top's "Ain’t In It For My Health" was awarded the first ever Grammy in the newly-added Best Traditional Country Album category. Congratulations to all of this year's Grammy nominees and winners! I’m Sheena, and that's your Music City Minute.

HARDY, Tim McGraw, Eric Church and Morgan Wallen become family for massive new collaboration | Music City Minute

For at least a week, Tim McGraw, Eric Church and HARDY have been dropping clues and Easter eggs on their social media (a la Taylor Swift) leading up to their surprising brand new collaborative release called "McArthur." Written by the wordsmith himself, HARDY's “McArthur” embodies exemplary storytelling synonymous with the country western genre. Recorded by Tim McGraw, Eric Church, Hardy and Morgan Wallen, the song explores the history and dynamics of the fictional McArthur family over four generations. Each artists adopts a character from the lineage, with McGraw portraying the patriarch John McArthur, Church portraying his son Junior, followed by HARDY, who portrays Jones and finally Wallen, who is the youngest and only surviving male of the bloodline, Hunter. Ending on a thoughtful yet cautious note, the final verse asks, "When you pass on, what you gonna pass down?" Whew, anyone else getting modern-day "Highwaymen" vibes?   I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.

Kenny Chesney is a legend, yet he retains strong feelings over industry slight | Music City Minute

Kenny Chesney has sold millions of records, rocked millions of faces at stadiums around the world and is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame. You would think with all that success a big star like Chesney wouldn’t get hung up on little things such as songs that didn’t make it to No. 1 status. However, the Tennessee native recently confessed there is one song he believes didn’t get a fair shake, and it’s stuck in his craw since 2003. Two major records dominated radio airplay that summer, Chesney's, "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problems" and "5 O’Clock Somewhere" from Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett, which sat in the No. 1 position for eight straight weeks. Although he considered both icons good friends, Chesney's disappointment over his song only peaking at No. 2 is palpable. Revealing the innerworkings of the music business, he explained how both songs were released from the same label, but Jackson and Buffett's song was so “hot” there was no room for the label to maneuver his song on the charts. That said, the "Pirate King of Country Music" puts a little extra into performances of "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems," essentially, giving the song the love and attention it didn’t receive from the industry.   I'm Sheena, and that's your Music City Minute.

Carrie Underwood trades in her Bugatti-paced lifestyle for a slower, Sunday-drive-in-a-truck vibe | Music City Minute

Professional entertainers such as Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood and Lionel Richie are constantly on the move. For example, in the music business, when artists are not writing and recording an album, they are typically preparing or executing a multi-week tour to support said album. Then there is the promotional aspect, which includes but is not limited to podcast, radio and TV interviews as well as special appearances. Now, throw in something major like a filming schedule and suddenly personal time is almost nonexistent. Yet, in 2026, only two "American Idol" judges are going to have packed calendars and Carrie Underwood is not one of them. During a sit down with Jimmy Kimmel, the musical icons confirmed Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie would be touring this year while Carrie Underwood plans to focus on her family, judging duties on the reality competition show and only play a handful of festivals. All in all, I am sure the "Church Bells" singer, her husband and two boys will enjoy more time together and the much slower pace this year. I'm Sheena, and that's your Music City Minute.

Grand Ole Opry forced to cancel legendary live show, Jason Aldean fans let down | Music City Minute

Winter has finally arrived in the Mile High City. While many folks braved the cold to either watch football or visit the National Western Complex for the final weekend of Stock Show and pro-rodeo finals, our friends to the east could not even leave the house. Winter Storm Fern delivered blizzard conditions so dangerous, the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville decided it would be safer to cancel their Saturday night live show. A full cancellation is practically unheard of for the legendary program. That said, producers encouraged fans to tune into the 100-year-old show the old-fashioned way, from the comfort of home. Winter Storm Fern caused further disappointment among Jason Aldean fans who were geared up to see him in Charleston, West Virginia. Unfortunately, the weekend concert had to be postponed due to safety concerns. A statement shared by the Georgia native's team apologized for the inconvenience but assured fans original tickets will be honored at the new August 21 show.   I'm Sheena, and that's your Music City Minute.

Kelsea Ballerini's heartbreaking goodbye to best friend | Music City Minute

I admit, when I woke up this morning, I did not think I would end up ugly crying at work, but here we are. Most Kelsea Ballerini fans are familiar with her dog, Dibs. Over the last 10 years, no matter how crazy Ballerini’s life got, she could always depend on the loyal pup to be her anchor. Sadly, Dibs was diagnosed with inoperable cancer near his heart in the fall of 2024. Not knowing how long how much time was left, the "East Tennessee" singer put a lot of energy into treating Dibs, keeping him comfortable and, of course, spoiling him rotten with love, treats and lots of adventures. That said, Ballerini was able to find the strength to share a memorial post honoring Dibs, who crossed the rainbow bridge last week. Reflecting on their special bond, Ballerini said she was the luckiest person in the world to have been his mom. She goes on to declare the sweet boy her “soul dog” who she hopes and prays to reunite with in every life. I'm Sheena, and that's your Music City Minute.

Joshua Ray Walker makes Texas sized commitment, receives 'atta-boy' from Jelly Roll! | Music City Minute

Joshua Ray Walker is an incredibly talented artist from Texas. Unfortunately, the last few years have been a personal roller coaster ride for the 32-year-old. Back in 2023, he was diagnosed with colon cancer and underwood treatment. Late in 2024, a follow up scan apparently revealed the cancer has spread to his lungs. Needless to say, Walker was preparing for the worst. That is, until just weeks later, when he learned the original diagnosis was incorrect and there were no signs of cancer anywhere in his body. The emotional and physical toll from the experience was enormous, and soon the singer ballooned to over 600 pounds. However, after seeing Jelly Roll on the cover of Men's Health magazine, the Texas native is ready to turn his life around, announcing his plan to lose 400 pounds in 400 days. Walker started a new Instagram page in an effort to document his progress, which has already gained over 300,000 followers. Not only that, but Jelly Roll has also personally reached out with words of encouragement, as well as offering a helping hand.   I'm Sheena, and that's your Music City Minute.

Zack Bryan and Samantha Leonard, cheers to happily ever after! | Music City Minute

Zach Bryan is kicking off 2026 with a bang, or rather, the ring of wedding bells. The "Pink Skies" singer has apparently tied the knot with his current squeeze, Samantha Leonard. Their whirlwind relationship has taken the couple around the world. A few of their epic adventures include (but are not limited to) hiking in the Alps, skydiving and attending the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain...not just as spectators, but actual participants! That experience must have left quite the impression, especially considering Bryan and Leonard chose the coastal city of San Sebastián, Spain, as the backdrop for their big day. The picture-perfect wedding ended with the bride and groom rocking sunglasses and driving off in a shiny convertible. Although the singer and the influencer both seem to harbor wild spirits, ultimately, that might be the key to not only a thriving relationship, but also the peace and contentment Bryan has been desperately seeking. Congratulations to the lovebirds on this new, exciting chapter.   I’m Sheena, and that’s your Music City Minute.
