Creating Community with Rebecca Brough (Episode 82)

from Girls Gone Gravel podcast

On this week’s episode Kathryn and Kristi welcome Rebecca Brough from Boulder, CO. Rebecca is the founder of Ride or Die Collective, a riding community and race team to get more women and non binary people on bikes and at start lines. As a competitive swimmer growing up, Rebecca found triathlon after moving to Boulder. She quickly realized that cycling was her favorite discipline of the 3, and started pursuing more adventures on the bike. Taking part in local group rides, Rebecca noticed a big gap in the number of women and men. So, she decided to take matters into her own hands and started leading group rides for women. The Ride or Die Collective started as a once monthly group ride, and has now evolved into weekly rides, a monthly collective ride and their famous “Saturdays Are For the Girls” rides. Over 500 women have participated in their group rides, and RDC also has a race team with 47 women. Rebecca talks about why it is so important to create a culture where all women feel welcome to show up no matter what level they are at. She also gives advice for those of us that may be looking to start our own group rides, and how best to partner with local brands and businesses to get support for your cycling group. You can follow along with Rebecca’s journey on Instagram @_rideordiecollective_  and visit their website at rideordie.orgTo learn more about the Gone Graveling festival and register for the event go to: https://www.girlsgonegravel.com/festival **Support the Girls Gone Gravel Podcast**InsideTracker: get 20% off at insidetracker.com/feisty
