BONUS: Take the Leap: Kate Veronneau on Adventure and Trying Something New at FeistyFest

In this bonus episode, Selene welcomes longtime friend, cyclist, and women’s sports powerhouse Kate Veronneau to the show for a preview of the first-ever FeistyFest in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. For Kate, the location is personal. The Valley Preferred Cycling Center is where she first fell in love with bike racing, found her cycling community, and eventually launched a career in the sport. She shares how a casual Friday night trip to watch track racing turned into an entry-level “try the track” class, a relocation to the Lehigh Valley, and years immersed in one of the most magical cycling communities around.Selene and Kate talk about what makes the Lehigh Valley so special: quiet roads, covered bridges, gravel before gravel was “gravel,” beautiful trails, and a deep community of people who love to ride, run, explore, and support one another. They also dig into what attendees can expect at FeistyFest: track riding, gravel, trail running, lifting, swimming, pickleball, community, laughter, and the kind of grown-up summer camp energy that reminds women how good it feels to try new things.Kate also shares why women-only spaces can be so powerful, especially when women feel safe, supported, and encouraged to step outside their comfort zones. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or brand new to an activity, there is something magical that happens when women come together, lift each other up, and give each other permission to live a little bigger.Learn more and register for FeistyFest

With a fully remote job, Morgan realized that she had a unique opportunity to relocate from Seattle to somewhere that would allow her to ride her bike outside all year long so she made the move to Girona in 2022 to immerse herself in the world of cycling in Europe. Not long after her arrival in Girona she was laid off from her job, but she seized the opportunity to focus more on her riding and started racing gravel. Morgan saw quick success in the gravel racing scene and garnered some support from brands to help make her season possible. At the end of last season she joined Pas Normal, and she talks about what it’s like being part of that team. Living and training in Girona has also allowed Morgan to meet and ride with some other big names in the world of gravel, and she tells us about how she has formed friendships with other women in the sport that have helped to guide her along in her career so far, and why it is so important for women to support and lift each other up. Follow Morgan on Instagram @morgan_aguirreRegister for Feisty Fest at https://feisty.co/events/Follow us on Instagram:@feistycycling@feisty_mediaGirls Gone Gravel Website:https://www.girlsgonegravel.com/Support our Partners:SILCA: Use the code FeistyUnbound2026 for 15% off at https://silca.cc/en-ca Wahoo: Learn about the ELEMNT ROAM 3 at https://wahoofitness.pxf.io/6kn0EbMomentous: Use code GIRLSGONEGRAVEL for up to 35% off your first order at livemomentous.comTifosi: Use the code FEISTY2026 for 20% off at tifosioptics.comRegister for Feisty Fest at https://feisty.co/events/

The Gravel Experience with Danni Shrosbree (Episode 223)

This week on the show we are throwing it back to April, when Kathryn had a chance to sit down with professional cyclist Danni Shrosbree in Girona ahead of the kick off to her 2025 race season. Growing up as a running and competitive swimmer, Dani dabbled in triathlon a bit, then was recruited to her university rowing team. After university she was looking for an outlet to stay active and found cycling, at first just for fun, but was talked into doing a crit race (which she won) and was hooked from there. From there, Danni worked her way up the road racing ranks and eventually joined a UCI continental team - all while working full time. Danni dabbled in some off-road riding over the pandemic with her dad, and decided to give gravel racing a try in 2023. She loved it, and in looking for more gravel races, she ended up applying for, and getting accepted into the Life Time Grand Prix. Danni committed to gravel racing for the 2024, but after sponsorship changes that year she left the Grand Prix to focus on the Gravel Earth series. As a European-based rider, Danni opens up about the challenges of racing in the USA, and also the changes that she has seen as a female racer in Europe.  Follow Danni’s YouTube channel @dannishrosbree and on Instagram @danni_shrosbree Register for Feisty Fest at https://feisty.co/events/Follow us on Instagram:@feistycycling@feisty_mediaGirls Gone Gravel Website:https://www.girlsgonegravel.com/Support our Partners:SILCA: Use the code FeistyUnbound2026 for 15% off at https://silca.cc/en-ca Wahoo: Learn about the ELEMNT ROAM 3 at https://wahoofitness.pxf.io/6kn0EbMomentous: Use code GIRLSGONEGRAVEL for up to 35% off your first order at livemomentous.comTifosi: Use the code FEISTY2026 for 20% off at tifosioptics.comRegister for Feisty Fest at https://feisty.co/events/

Adventure Femmes with Lani Woods (Episode 219)

Welcome to our third episode in our SBT GRVL series! This week Kathryn and Kristi welcome cyclist and mom of two, Lani Woods. Lani is captaining a GRVL Femmes team at SBT this coming weekend, leading a group of five women through the event. Lani got her start in cycling after a knee injury in 2020 sidelined her from obstacle course racing. She found joy on the bike, and loved being able to push herself further and further. Lani has raced almost every discipline of cycling, but has gravitated towards ultra endurance events and, more recently, gravel racing. Lani spent most of her life in California, but has recently moved to Hawaii, and she is loving getting to explore new dirt roads on the island, and connecting with a new cycling community. She gives her advice for anyone who is curious about getting into gravel, and highlights why it is important to have visibility of all women on gravel start lines. Christie is an ultra endurance cycling specialist, who started dabbling in gravel racing about 5 years ago. She recently outright won the 2025 24 hour time trial national championships, beating every other competitor! Christie began her cycling career after doing a triathlon for her 35th birthday, where she got hooked on the challenge of cycling. She has certainly taken that challenge to so many amazing levels, and will be imparting her knowledge to her team at SBT GRVL. Christie talks about the importance of keeping a positive mindset in endurance events, and shares how she sets mini goals throughout events. Follow Christie on Instagram @teamtracyatxLearn more about all of the Feisty Courses at https://learning.feisty.co/ Register for Feisty Fest at https://feisty.co/events/Follow us on Instagram:@feistycycling@feisty_mediaGirls Gone Gravel Website:https://www.girlsgonegravel.com/Support our Partners:SILCA: Use the code FeistyUnbound2026 for 15% off at https://silca.cc/en-ca Wahoo: Learn about the ELEMNT ROAM 3 at https://wahoofitness.pxf.io/6kn0EbMomentous: Use code GIRLSGONEGRAVEL for up to 35% off your first order at livemomentous.comTifosi: Use the code FEISTY2026 for 20% off at tifosioptics.comRegister for Feisty Fest at https://feisty.co/events/

Unfinished Business with Ellen Noble (Episode 217)

This is the first episode of a three part series in collaboration with SBT GRVL. Kathryn is joined by guest host and SBT founder Amy Charity, and the pair get the chance to chat with professional cyclist Ellen Noble. Ellen is part of a new initiative by the folks at SBT for 2025 called the SBT GRVL Femmes Challenge mentorship program. The program pairs professional racers with a team of amateur women who want to take on the race at SBT. The mentors will join their teams throughout the whole race, to help them with everything from pacing to nutrition and technical assistance. The goal of the program is to encourage more women to take on the race day at SBT, and show them that you don’t have to be a “bike racer” to do a bike race. Ellen is the perfect mentor for this program as she has an extensive background racing all disciplines of cycling at the highest level. However, in 2019 she was diagnosed with a medical condition that threatened her career and led her to take a few years away from racing. Ellen talks about the humbling process of facing a health condition that stripped away her identity of a “bike racer” and how she has painstakingly built herself back to a place where she feels healthy and strong enough to race her bike again. Follow Ellen on Instagram @ellenlikesbikes Follow Amy Charity on Instagram @amymcharity and @sbtgrvlLearn more about the SBT GRVL Femmes program at: https://www.sbtgrvl.com/grvl-femmes Register for Feisty Fest at https://feisty.co/events/Follow us on Instagram:@feistycycling@feisty_mediaGirls Gone Gravel Website:https://www.girlsgonegravel.com/Support our Partners:SILCA: Use the code FeistyUnbound2026 for 15% off at https://silca.cc/en-ca Wahoo: Learn about the ELEMNT ROAM 3 at https://wahoofitness.pxf.io/6kn0EbMomentous: Use code GIRLSGONEGRAVEL for up to 35% off your first order at livemomentous.comTifosi: Use the code FEISTY2026 for 20% off at tifosioptics.comRegister for Feisty Fest at https://feisty.co/events/
