Occupational therapy is such a diverse field and one of my favorite parts of doing interviews is learning about all the different practice areas within our profession. Today’s episode with Alexis Joelle, MS, OTR/L dives into occupational therapy in acute care, detailing what it looks like, as well as highlighting the benefits and challenges associated with this practice area. We cover the hot topic of occupation-based practice and how Alexis maintains the use of occupations despite being in a clinical setting. She also shares how her experiences in travel therapy led her to starting a mentorship program to support and educate OT practitioners. Alexis is all about instilling confidence for all clinicians and promoting the distinct value of occupational therapy.

K. Chesterton (1874 - 1936) LibriVox LibriVox volunteers bring you 9 recordings of The Song Against Songs by G. K. Chesterton. This was the Fortnightly Poetry project for October 16, 2011.Chesterton was a large man, standing 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 m) and weighing around 21 stone (130 kg; 290 lb). His girth gave rise to a famous anecdote. During World War I a lady in London asked why he was not 'out at the Front'; he replied, 'If you go round to the side, you will see that I am.' On another occasion he remarked to his friend George Bernard Shaw: "To look at you, anyone would think a famine had struck England". Shaw retorted, "To look at you, anyone would think you have caused it". P. G. Wodehouse once described a very loud crash as "a sound like Chesterton falling onto a sheet of tin."( Summary from Wikipedia ) IT IS WHAT IT IS with SHALLZ - SHALLY ZOMORODI Shally Zomorodi What?  "It is what it is" with ShallZ – Shally ZomorodiWhen? WeeklyHow long? 35 minutesEvery week, Mother of 4, wife, morning TV news anchor and ultimate hostess, Shally Zomorodi talks about life - its up's and downs and how to stay on track in her weekly podcast, ‘It is what it is.’  Known for her high energy, infectious smile and ability to see the cup as half full Shally talks about all things in life and how to work through its challenges.
