Cringy Words

We are jumping into business trigger (cringy) words today with Val, starting with JV. So, if you don't know, JV is the abbreviation for Joint Venture. Val shared that initially, it confused her and caused intimidation because she assumed it was exclusive to advanced, successful business people. However, she later realized it was simply collaboration. Leaning into this revelation, she breaks down various forms of joint ventures, such as affiliate marketing, podcast guest swapping, participating in events, and more. Val also discusses how linguistic perceptions can create unnecessary barriers and emphasizes finding terminology that resonates more comfortably with us. Val gives us an example of 'Mind Quiet,' which she uses as an alternative to the word 'Meditation.' The episode concludes with Val encouraging listeners to frequently talk about their businesses, emphasizing that verbalizing their actions can provide clarity and confidence. She stresses the value of collaboration and communication as daily practices to grow one's business effectively. She also invites listeners to share any words that they find confusing or off-putting so that she can help demystify them in future episodes.
