CSR IN THE EMIRATES – HABIBA AL MARASHI, PRESIDENT OF THE ARABIA CSR NETWORK

Habiba Al Marashi describes the emergence of sustainability and CSR networks and work in the United Arab Emirates. Multistakeholder consultations and business needs formed the basis of the Arabia CSR network. What began with raising Awareness turned into a structural accreditation programme and capacity building amongst the local business entities. Arabia CSR Awards is celebrating its 13th year with sector specific criteria and a substantive impact on society and economy. Arabia CSR Network’s work is characterized and influenced by the historical origins of CSR in the region – a strong sense of investing and contributing to the community, employee welfare and environmental concerns shared globally.
