Đối với Việt Nam, CPTPP cho đến nay vẫn chưa đáp ứng được kỳ vọng về thúc đẩy các cải cách khó liên quan đến doanh nghiệp nhà nước, quyền sở hữu trí tuệ hay luồng dữ liệu. Thay vì phân tâm vào các chi tiết vụn vặt về kinh tế và địa chính trị trong quá trình tiến hành, Việt Nam nên lưu ý rằng các cải cách này phù hợp với lợi ích quốc gia về lâu dài và vì vậy không nên ngần ngại trong việc thực thi chúng.
