Daily Bible Reading Day 75 - Job 28 & 29 and 1st Cor. 10

Today's daily bible reading comes from the book of Job chapters 28 & 29 followed by 1st Corinthians chapter 10.   Job continues his discourse from the previous chapters in this section and is bolstering his claim that he has indeed lived a righteous life. His proof revolves around the many righteous acts of service that he did. Like Abraham, you can say that Job was a man of Faith because of his works.   In 1st Cor 10, Paul relates the mistakes that their people (the Jews in the past) had made mistakes that were written down for our benefit. Again, history is there for us to strive NOT to repeat it.  Paul mentions several sins but really focuses on the sin of idolatry.   He also gives us some great wisdom regarding our own temptations. "God is faithful, and will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation, he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
